Why don't people reply when they get my PM?!? Why leave it then forget about it?
C'mon people, move!
Myrddraal, I think you need to be a bit more harsh. Set a deadline and punish (perhaps kill) those who don't send their orders on time. Or else, this game will hardly move forward.
It must be frustating waiting for someone, when in fact they're there running around and care little...
Ignoramus

Myrddraal
07-20-2007, 16:10
I'm sure I did I have you down with a sent message yesterday... Resending now.
The deadline for PMs is 12am midday tommorrow GMT.
If you haven't sent me a PM by then I will ask for replacements to take over your role. *COUGH* *IGNORAMUS* *COUGH*
In fact, any willing people to replace any players in this game could help me by posting here.
GeneralHankerchief
07-20-2007, 16:26
I wouldn't mind, but something tells me I'm not an option.
Er... I'm confused now. The PM you just forwarded to me was the same as the one I got for the 7/16 post. I submitted orders for that one. I don't have results that correspond to the 7/19 post.
[edit] Ignore me. I think I've gotten the dates confused. If the PM you just forwarded is the proper one, then I am not missing anything. I sent the reply to that one yesterday, so that should be correct.
@Myrddraal: I'm willing to replace. If GH doesn't mind, though
EDIT: And if dead player like me can play again...
Myrddraal
07-20-2007, 17:05

Forbidden zones for next turn:

From this point onwards there will be two new forbidden zones per turn. Giving you from a lower upper bound of 4 turns to kill your opponents. (I may be generous and deactivate some existing zones, but if this happens extra zones will probably be activated to compensate.
Don't worry about finding your opponents, you will
Send your PMs!

You know, I'm a little curious as to who killed me. I was a sniper on the school roof in round one, but Tblade, who was supposed to act as my eyes and ears, seemed to have already been dead. Either that, or he ran off on me. Thus, someone managed to sneak up behind me and lop my head off w/ a sword. I was rather irritated that I died in the first round.
I died from moldy cheese.

Could all contestants still in the game READ YOUR PM's BEFORE READING THE FOLLOWING
Open the spoil tags in order, one after the other.
Warning: This is a long read
Warning: Violence is described in these tags, this is a violent game.
Orb:
As soon at the forbidden zone was announced, you set to work preparing to leave.
Deciding to move to the southern part of the harbour, still free of danger, you have picked out the yacht you explored earlier as your new base of operations.
Transferring all your kit has taken several trips, but you are reluctant to abandon anything, even the magazine found on this very yacht. Soon you have transferred the remains of your alcoholic collection, your small stock of dry biscuits, remaining bread and water along with some of the tools found in the workshops.
On your last trip to the tug, you regretfully see that the radio is bolted down, and far too heavy to move anyway. You re-read the note that had brought you hope of escape, and replace it where you found it, under the radio. Perhaps a future player of this cursed "game" could use it better than you have.
With a last look at the Leaky Bucket, you shoulder Roadkill's gun and your harpoon gun, turning you back on the possibility of escape. The precious car keys, you keep in your pocket.
Soon you are walking eastwards, inland, to the Orchard, leaving the sparkling harbour behind.
TinCow:
The insects bighting you and the damp ground hardly make your hiding place comfortable, but these minor annoyances are the least of your worries. Lying prone is a stable position, but the pressure on your ribs and wounds is not welcome. The dressing you applied at the clinic has been oozing, and has crusted over. It seems your stitching must have failed on your journey at some point. Though you are trained in first aid, you're hardly a paramedic.
You try to carry your weight on your elbows. Wincing and gritting your teeth, you wait.
Ignoramus!:
You wake up from a deep sleep, feeling groggy and unsure of where you are or why. For some time you simply lie where you fell, face in the dirt, amongst your own filth.
You feel terrible, drained and weak. But memory soon comes flooding back; you remember the sunstroke, gulping down the stagnant and contaminated water. You remember the nausea, the induced vomiting then the nightmarish struggle to escape the forbidden zone. It occurs to you that somehow you are still alive!
You remember collapsing in the middle of the dirt track, having only just escaped. In the middle of the dirt track...
Suddenly conscious of how exposed you are, you have no difficulty remembering the dangers that lie all around. You struggle to your feet, reach for your M9 and look around you. Nobody. Only just believing your luck at having not been discovered in your vulnerable state, you look southwards - to the orchard.
It is a small orchard, with four neat sections of apple trees. It's edges are overgrown with long grass, but ladders are propped up against some of the trees to make picking easier. Lines of large fresh green and red eating apples seem to glow in the sunlight. Your empty stomach gives a rumble of desire.
You move slowly towards the idyllic sight. Walking is still an effort; you concentrate on not tripping over. Despite your pace, it isn't too long before you enter the orchard. A rusty tractor stands on the eastern side of the orchard. Long green grass and flaking rusty paint show that it has long been out of use.
One tree in particular seems particularly fruitful, its juicy blood red apples calling to you. The ladder at its foot is a step ladder. It seems stable enough and you are hungry enough to feel confident climbing despite your weakness. On the top step you reach and you hand closes around a ripe juicy apple.
TinCow:
The pain in your side is quickly forgotten as you see movement to the north. The sight of the man slowly entering the orchard takes you back for a moment. It's Ignoramus, the dead man! He seems to be stumbling, walking in a slow and unsteady way, and in a moment of madness you consider the possibility that you are seeing a zombie.
Recovering your senses, you notice that Ignoramus is clearly weak and struggling. He is also armed to the teeth; M9 in hand, grenades strapped around his chest, and what looks like a fully automatic pistol is rammed in his belt. However, the weapon that catches your eye is the Sniper rifle on his shoulder. The last time you saw that weapon, it saved your life in the hands of a friend. Now that friend is dead, and the weapon lies in the hands of your foe. You quietly vow to avenge AgonyDuck.
Ignoramus hasn't noticed you, concealed as you are. Levelling your aim, you wait to see if he will come closer.
Ignoramus:
You hear the shot and feel the sharp pain in the back of your neck almost simultaneously. Loosing your balance, the stepladder collapses and the apple falls from your hands. Time seems to slow, agony drives all thought from your mind as you fall, the ground rising to meet you. You only half hear the second shot. As you hit the ground, you loose consciousness, for the last time.
TinCow:
Your first shot, aimed at the head, misses slightly and impacts into Ignoramus' neck, who looses his balance and falls from his perch. You fire again, but miss as Ignoramus collapses. A shot to the neck will almost certainly have killed him, and sure enough, he does not stir from the base of the tree. AgonyDuck's blood has been paid for in blood.
You wait a minute, listening and watching for anyone in the vicinity. Deciding that the cost is clear, you struggle out from beneath the rusting disused tractor, trying not to disturb the long grass that made it such a good hiding place.
Examining the body, you make certain that Ignoramus has passed away. Satisfied, you search his body. Soon you find your arsenal transformed; from a single pistol and a medieval bow and arrows, you find yourself armed with two pistols, a machine pistol, a sniper rifle and 6 grenades. You also find a small handheld electronic device.
Stripping Ignoramus of his equipment you pull him against the trunk of the tree.
Concealing yourself once more in the space beneath the tractor, you ready the sniper rifle, now returned to its rightful owner. These are the kind of weapons you were trained to use, you a soldier not an archer! With the adrenaline draining from you, the pain in your side and back renews with vigour. You turn your attention to the strange device Ignoramus was carrying.
The display screen shows a map of the surrounding area. It shows a detail of the map you were issued with: 12 zones centred on orchard. In the Orchard a strong red dot, approximately at your location.
There seem to be no controls or interface with the gadget, only the display screen. Within minute of viewing this device, a second faint red dot appears on the western side of the map. You watch as the dot approaches, and as it does increases in brightness. Whatever this gadget is, it seems to indicate something coming this way, from the west.
Orb:
You pause and crouch, hearing two shots to the east. These kinds of shots are unnerving, and have been increasing in frequency. A few rounds ago, you heard three shots far to the east, yet nothing came of it. Thinking about it, you yourself caused gunfire in the harbour shooting at bottles.
Continuing cautiously, you move cross country through the undergrowth. The track leading from the harbour to the orchard went via the well, now a forbidden zone. Besides, you are better concealed in this terrain.
Soon you emerge on the western side of the orchard. Nothing seems to have changed since your last visit. The sun beats down on the small groups of apple trees, still laden with fruit. The tractor continues is slow decay, abandoned to the weather. Something strikes you as different about the tractor. The long grass that surrounds it seems to have been disturbed. As you look, the sun glints on something metallic beneath the chassis.
You try to react, but too late; a single sharp crack and a bullet pierces your skull. You are dead before you hit the ground.
Around the island a loudspeakers crackle into action.
"Hello Zentsuji Middle School Class E!" "Congratulations to Student Male # 6! You are the winner of this Battle Royale! Move into the open and stay where you are. Discard your weapons, or I shall detonate your collar!"
With a roar of engines and spinning blades, two helicopters rise gracefully from the school compound, one military and one civilian. The steel barbed gates are flung back and a column of two armoured cars and a military jeep, packed with soldiers, rev their engines and take to the main road.
The military helicopter heads east, setting a direct course for the orchard, but the civilian helicopter flies south. From within its cabin, ear protector clad reporters prepare and cameras roll.
"Yes ladies and gentlemen, the 142nd Battle Royale has ended, and we have a winner from Zentsuji Middle School in Org Province! It's been a particularly destructive Battle Royale ladies and gentlemen, proving without doubt the violent and dangerous nature of our younger generation."
"Admire how effectively the bomb shelter has been completely destroyed, how the General Store has been ransacked and how the Clinic..."
TinCow stood in the centre of the orchard, clutching his sniper rifle to his chest. The military helicopter hovered in the air above, its powerful spinning blades causing the leaves and grass to sway violently in the wind.
Down the northern track two armoured cars had blindly raced into the orchard, and now a dozen rifles were trained on his lonely figure. A film crew were capturing the entire episode for the State TV from the back of a jeep.
TinCow was disgusted by the lack of skill and thought these supposed professional soldiers had displayed. They had arrived in dribs and drabs, first the helicopter, which had made several passes before finally finding him, and then the armoured cars, swerving into the orchard seemingly without thinking about danger. Had he wanted to, he could have ambushed and destroyed that armoured column easily. The helicopter might have been a bit more challenging, but they seemed incompetent enough to crash into a tree if he had run into the woods.
"THROW DOWN YOUR WEAPON OR WE SHALL DETONATE YOUR COLLAR" boomed a loudspeaker from the preying helicopter.
The collar. The ultimate weapon. Supposedly, he had won this Battle Royale, but this felt like Check Mate at the hands of the government.
TinCow threw down his rifle, then un-holstered his pistol. He hesitated, his mind turning back to a promise he had made to himself.
This is my pistol. There are many like it but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my pistol is useless. Without my pistol, I am useless. I must fire my pistol true. I must shoot straighter than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will.
"THROW DOWN YOUR WEAPON!" The voice sounded a touch impatient now, but TinCow wasn't listening, he had made his decision.
"... how the Clinic has been fortified, the Church desecrated, the woods ..."
The reporter’s words are interrupted by the loud and unmistakable sound of gunfire. Five individual shots are heard, answered by a volley of machine gun fire. The shooting goes on for perhaps 15 seconds, then a dull explosion cuts through the noise and stops it dead.
TinCow is the WINNER!
Orb and Ignoramus are joint runners up.
I hope you all enjoyed this Battle Royale, it was a lot of work, but very enjoyable and if people would like, I'm willing to host another.
My write up will consist of all the descriptions I wrote for everybody (that's a lot of text), and will be coming soon. I'm sorry I don't really know what happened early in the game as I wasn't host at the start.
I also apologise for some mistakes that took place in the game. Marshal Murat started in the wrong place, which did affect the game, and Ignoramus burnt the clinic but I forgot and later allowed TinCow to use it. Sorry...
Hope you enjoyed :viking:
Woo! Punctured lung for the win! :2thumbsup:
For anyone who was curious why my character ended like he did, I was part of a 3 man Special Forces team when the game began and our job was to storm the school and kill the head honcho, or something similar to that. Poor communications between the team members and some general bad luck led to me being on my own rather quickly.
Thanks to everyone who helped run this. It was my first 'complete' Gameroom game and I had a lot of fun. I'll definitely be back for the next game. Huge props to Myrddraal as well for his very well-written descriptions.

Concealing yourself once more in the space beneath the tractor, you ready the sniper rifle, now returned to its rightful owner.
Rightful owner? Now, that would be me, considering it was mine to begin with. Darn thiefs...

Thank you very much for avenging me, TinCow.

Yeah sorry Greaterkhaan, but you did loose it fairly quickly
I'd also like to say there were some fairly monumentous mistakes made by players in this game. Ignoramus should have won easily. I'm not going to say what his mistake was (I don't want everyone knowing all the tricks for next game) but I hope he realises it.
Ironically TinCow's team of three was a special forces team sent to stop the storming of the school. Their task was to hunt down those who had plans to storm the school. Inadvertantly of course TinCow succeeded. In the last paragraph, he is meant to have become dissalusioned with his task and the government, hence his end.
Ah, right, I knew it was something like that. Slow communications meant we ended up not getting orders in on time for the first turn, so we started at the school. We all had great stats, but had really poor equipment. I had a bow and arrows, and someone else had a full suit of plate armor and a broadsword! We grabbed the sniper rifle right off the bat, but that wasn't so great for close combat and it didn't help the other two people. We legged it out to the mountain, trying to find someone to kill for better weapons, but I got shot with a crossbow. The guy with the sniper rifle then went to clinic to try and get medicine to help me, but he never returned, so we lost our only decent weapon. The guy who stayed behind to protect me while I was near death then stopped responding to PMs. Someone stumbled upon us up there and my protector killed him, but died in the process. I got a pistol out of it, but was alone and very badly injured. So, all plans to do anything except survive went out the window.

Sasaki could you mark this game finished?
Cheers
I guess I'll try harder next game. I should have hit Ignoramus over the head with my camera.

I'm going to post these now to make some room in my inbox.
Initial PM from pevergreen:
Stats:
Strength: 5
Survival: 4
Weapon: Ingram MAC-10 (SMG) (9) and a tracking device
Description: A nice medium range weapon, and a tracking device. It has an ok range, but only reveals if life forms are detected.[/QUOTE[
Obviously these were two awesome weapons, more than making up for my so-so statistics. I decided that if I had the grenades/armor then I'd be invincible, so I set out on a quest for those two items, killing anyone on the way.
1st turn orders to pevergreen:
Right, you've given me some very nice toys that more than make up for my subpar natural abilities, and for that I thank you. Now, on to business.
Head to the supply store, paying close attention to the tracking device.
If there are less than two people there when I arrive: Head inside, shoot the other person if there is one present, and load up on food/water. Keep a close watch on the tracking device while doing this. Once that is accomplished, get down low and blast anyone who dares enter the supply store after me (I should have ample warning).
If there are two or more people there when I arrive: Get to a sheltered position outside with a clear shot at the door of the supply store. Waste anyone exiting the place, but don't hit anyone entering. If for some strange reason people leave the store, after I shoot them, I am to enter the store and all parts of the above scenario apply.
Let me know if there's anything that needs clarification.
Complex orders are a pain, but I wanted things done right. I figured that the supply store would be a popular target, but I also banked on having the best weapons. As it turned out, I was right:
You advance on the General Store, with two bleeps on your radar, one behind, one in front. You keep watch of the distance, but with the terrrain, they can not see you. You find that a bleep is coming from the General Store, and find Xdeathfire inside, ransacking the store. You take aim, careful of the bleep behind you, and fire. You miss, breaking an item to the left of Xdeathfire. He runs outside screaming for an alliance, but you take no notice, and calmly shoot him in the head. The bleep from behind you gets closer, as you ransack Xdeathfire's body. You take cover behind the door, waiting for the person to come in sight. As Tranpants staggers towards the doors, exhausted, you shoot him down.
You have enough food and water to last the game, and the option of taking Tran's Kitchen Knife (2) and possibly Xdeathfire's bomb (10).
Now I was in luck. I killed two people, suffered no injuries to myself, and had a bomb! Ideally, it was to be planted stealthily and detonated later on in the game to maximum effect. I decided to put it in the bomb shelter, since nobody expects a bomb in the bomb shelter, right?
Turn 2 orders:
Hah, I like the way this is turning out so far.
Okay, first of all, I'm taking the bomb. Clear out any extra food/water to make it fit. I'll stick the knife in Xdeathfire's body for good measure.
Depart the supply store, keeping an eye out on the tracking device, as usual. Head for the bomb shelter.
If there's anyone inside (the tracking device will tell me), fire a few rounds into it before climbing down. If I hit anyone (or if there's nobody in there), climb down (finishing the person off if necessary), plant the bomb somewhere, climb back out, and find a hiding spot where I have a clear view of the shelter. If I see anyone climb down into it, wait several seconds and press the "detonate" button.
If there's anyone inside but I don't hit them with the initial fire, don't bother entering. Instead, close the hatch and find a large heavy object to place on top of it so the person in there can't get back out. Head north, keeping off the road and watching the tracking device.
If there are two or more people in the shelter, don't bother opening the hatch, just find the heavy object to place over it and head north.
Again, let me know if anything's unclear.
I have lost my Turn 2 reply PM but things did not go as planned. I encountered sapi in the bomb shelter and was forced to detonate early, causing that huge explosion and utterly runing the shelter. Three people killed in two turns - not too shabby.
Turn 3 orders to Myrddraal:
In case you haven't heard, sent to you because pever is occupied for the week.
Physical rating: 5
Survival rating: 4
Weapons: Ingram MAC-10 SMG (9) and tracking device:
food/water: enough
Location: north of destroyed bomb shelter
Orders: Stay put. Watch the tracking device for anyone who might be coming and blast any and all who come in range.
GH
Sasaki said he'd come gunning for me this round so I figured I'd just set an ambush and wait for the lambs to come to the slaughter. None did, however:
With the remains of the Bomb Shelter smouldering not far off, you chuckle quietly to yourself again at the irony. The area seems infested with mosquitoes, but the smoke seems to keeping the air a little more clear of them now. Checking your tracking device regularly, you set about making yourself some food. You have some stale bread in your original pack, and some peanut butter, so you make yourself some sandwiches. You slap your neck as another mosquito tries to make a meal of you, and check the tracking device again.
Looking back, you notice that one of the many winged insects in the area is squirming in your peanut butter. Never mind, food is hard to come by here, you eat up the sandwich, and the extra protein too.
At this time you hear some faint shots to the North East which go on for some time. Looking that way you see a plume of grey smoke rising up from behind the mountain, and beyond that, rain clouds blowing in off the sea. Later, you hear a single faint shot, of a different kind, in the North.
Fiddling hopelessly with your collar, you check the tracking device and settle down to your sandwiches. Nobody comes your way.
Deciding to keep things moving, I told Myrddraal that I would head off to the church.
Okay, now that I've achieved quite a kill count and blown the bomb shelter to hell, it's time to move on. From what I gather in the thread, Ignoramus has used his truth serum on Ichigo, who is now unconscious. I estimate they're somewhere in the north, so I want to strike them both while they're vulnerable.
Move north (off the main road) to the church. As always, check the tracking device.
If nobody is in there, enter, check the place out, and plant myself by the door in ambush position.
If one or more people are in there, kick the door down and wait for the response. If people fire at me, then stay behind cover and get into a gunfight with them. If no shots are fired, actually enter the church and blast away. In either case, I am to deliver a follow-up series of shots once I hit a target in case they have a bulletproof vest on. Once this is accomplished, take the ambush position by the busted door.
This is where things got dicey. I found my first real test at the church in the form of Dutch_guy, waiting for me with a minor arsenal of his own.
As you gather your things and prepare to leave this insect infected hole a thin haze of light rain begins to fall. The kind of rain that doesn't seem too bad, but before long soaks you from head to toe.
Since you have the tracking device you don't fear ambush, but you avoid the main road nonetheless. You're not too far from the school, and your tracking device shows nothing; which leads you to ponder how this device works. The school must be teaming with soldiers, but you're getting no reading, it only seems to detect those in the game.
The rain thickens, and you pick up the pace, whilst being careful to keep you gun as dry as possible. The clouds are darkening the sky and land, you see sheet lightning, and hear the distant roll of thunder.
You join a dirt track heading north east, from the main road towards the church. As you approach, your tracking device gives you a faint reading. As you get closer it gives you a second reading, further east. You slow, making your way carefully, eyes switching from tracker to your darkening and soaked surroundings.
Lightning strikes, leaving a bright purple after-image, then almost immediately thunder booms. You calm your nerves, and continue cautiously, you have nothing to fear whilst you hold the tracking device. The tracking device now indicates that the two players are very close, possibly in the church. Your suspicion is confirmed soon after, as two explosions thunder ahead. You pause, and listen. The explosions are followed by the dull thud of shotgun fire. About thirty seconds later, another explosion. One of the signals on your tracking device winks out. The church is just ahead now, offering sanctuary from the rain, but you know to be careful. You hear two shots in the distance to the east, but they are far away from you.
Cautiously you approach the door. The church is small, long and thin, and the tracking device seems to indicate that the other person should be at the other end of the aisle. You take a deep breath, check your gun, wipe the rain from the end of your nose and focus. It's time for action.
You heave your foot against one of the wooden double doors which flies back under the impact, and hurl a couple of rounds across the pews. You see your target, standing over a body at the end of the aisle, adjust your aim and squeeze the trigger. A cry of anger and pain echoes through the church, and the man stumbles and falls behind the stone altar. You fire another round to keep him pinned down, and kneel, keeping most of your body behind the doorframe.
A shotgun barrel swings around the side of the altar and pellets fly, mostly into the wall behind which you're hiding, but one plants itself in your arm, causing you to drop your weapon. You duck into cover as a second round of pellets fly through the door and into the rain. Hard on the heels of the pellets, a grenade bounces through doorway. You throw yourself to the floor, as the explosion lights up the rain. Shrapnel flies all around you, some striking you and you give out another yelp of pain. You’re bleeding fairly heavily, but you can worry about that later, two rounds fired means one empty shotgun.
Your bleeding arm hanging loose, you spin around the doorframe, snatching your gun with your left hand. Keeping a constant flow of bullets flying towards the altar, you run into the church and duck into a side chapel, just in time to avoid the return salvo of shotgun pellets. Pausing to catch your breath again, you glance at your tracking device and notice movement. Your opponent is moving, very slowly, out from behind his hiding place; he surely has his shotgun trained on the entrance to the side chapel. Thinking fast, you search around for some cover, but find none. In desperation, you seize a small statue of St. Sebastian and hurl it though the chapel entrance.
The shotgun rings once again through the church, and the statue shatters on the floor, pierced by the spray of pellets. You dive through the archway, Ingram blazing, rolling and stumbling to your feet; you fire at the foe, now gripping his useless, empty shotgun.
As he collapses, you recognise Dutch Guy. For good measure, you empty your clip into the corpse, he’s dead for sure. For the first time, you take a second to examine your surroundings. It’s a scene of carnage, the wooden pews are strewn about at odd angles, some of them cleanly snapped into two. Small flames lick around some of the drier wood. One of the small windows to the side is smashed and rain is being blown inside. The altar cloth is singed and lying to one side, next to another corpse.
Examining that corpse, at first you cannot believe that this can be a man. Covered in blood, it wears two skulls hanging loosely on his shoulders, hacked in half, presumably with the Axe he wears at his side. KillF3nzy seems to be wearing several layers of clothes. He’s coated from head to toe in blood, plenty from his own wounds for sure, but some of it looks older and clotted. Suddenly you understand the presence of the vomit at the entrance, as your stomach heaves at the sight.
Several minutes later, you've dragged Dutch Guy and the reeking corpse of KillFr3nzy outside, in an attempt to avoid the smell. The rain is thundering on the roof of the Church, with several leaks causing a quieter but constant dripping noise. Between the two of them Dutch Guy and KillFr3nzy had a shotgun, 4 remaining grenades, a bloody throwing axe, a sword with a bible inscription on its blade and a bible covered in bloody fingerprints.
Your tracking device gives another reading, not far to the north of the Church, and you prepare an ambush, but the signal fades, heading east.
You have plenty of food and water. You are injured in your right arm and side, but not too badly.
I had the grenades and a nice new shotgun. However, I also picked up a wound. Not realizing that other people were still functioning extremely well with punctured lungs (:laugh4:), I headed off to the clinic. Again, I was supremely confident that my weapons could nullify any potential ambushes. All that was left was the bulletproof vest.
Next turn orders to Myrddraal:
Ooh, this was a nice treasure trove. I'd like to take every weapon with me, if that's possible. Drop some food/water if necessary.
Anyway, I would like to head east to the clinic now and treat the wounds, even if they're only minor. I don't particularly care how I get there, only make sure that I constantly check the tracking device.
Once at the clinic, I want to see how many people are inside.
- If nobody's inside, enter, treat my wounds, and set up an ambush. If necessary abandon treatment if a target needs to be dispatched.
- If one to three people are inside, I am to chuck the bible through a side window in order to break it. After that has been accomplished, toss a grenade in. As soon as I do that, I am to run to the front door and wait for the explosion. Immediately after it explodes, I am to break in and shoot everyone present with my MAC-10. The idea with the grenade is I want everyone to dive for cover and not have time to find a shot at the front door/me. Once all parties are eliminated, treat my wounds and prepare an ambush.
- If four or more people are inside, I am to find a sheltered position with a clear shot at the front door. Pick anyone off who enters or exits.
GH
However, this turned out to be my undoing. Ignoramus was waiting for me at the clinic and none of my weapons could match his sniper rifle.
You leave the church with more weapons than a small army, scanning your tracking device as you go.
Seeing two signals coming from the clinic, you approach it, but as you do so, one goes dead. Cautious now, you tuck the device away, taking out your shotgun and making sure to stay in cover.
You approach on the side opposite where you last saw the signal coming from, scanning the area for movement. Seeing nothing, you continue to advance.
Too late, you notice what you thought to be a piece of debris move, stop for a moment, then fire. You feel the bullet impact on your chest, and a thumping pain spreads through your body.
But you don't die, saved, as in so many clichéd movies, by the bible in your pocket. Angry now, you pull a grenade from your belt, and lob it onto the roof of the clinic.
Through the small slit in the boarded up window, you see the man holding the rifle duck for cover. Taking your opportunity while it lasts, you sprint up to the door rush inside, shotgun in hand.
But it's not to be. Having anticipated your move, Ignoramus is taking cover behind an overturned table facing the door, and he fires on you as you enter.
You fire back, out of reflex, but your shot goes high.
His doesn't, and this time, the bible doesn't save you.
Ah, well. I had my fun while it lasted, killing four people in five turns. Thanks to pevergreen and especially Myrddraal for putting this thing together. Excellent job everyone and once again, congrats to TinCow! :applause:

IO'll get all of my PMs later, but letsjust say that I did very little. I:
Grabbed some drugs from the clinic (Laxatives and Sleeping Pills as you may have guessed)
Met shlin in there
Poisoned shlin, took his stuff BUT left him alive
Worked my way over to the Well
Dumped the remaining drugs all in at once
Waited with some trip wire and prepared to choke anyone who came by
Talked to a Mulberry Bush - interesting story... I know Ignoramus could perhaps tell you about something in one of his PMs
Got sick of waiting, so moved South.
Saw someone, ran back
Moved into the Church and was 'naded.
EDIT: Just so you know GH, I started with the Bulletproof Vest.
Thanks of course go to pever, Myrddraal and sapi for running this at their respective times. I would certainly sign upf ro this again.
Gr... after you poisoned me I thought I was dead. Then I waited for ages, came back to the thread, realised Im still alive, pmed Myrddraal,
then forgot Im playing this game, and only realised when he pm-ed me about how i died of thirst and hunger... (how hungry could I get in one day? gamewise)
I got awsome stats though:
Stats:
Strength: 5
Survival: 10
Weapon: 10 metres of tripwire and scissors (4)
Description: Nice skill line and weapon for a good ambush, but you don’t have much length wise.
Also got a knife from the clinic, was planning to backstab CA with it when he turns his back to me on route, but he poisoned me before I could use it!

Actually Shlin if I remember correctly, because you didn't PM me I made you commit suicide in the clinic.
@Ichigo, again you died because you didn't PM me. The pretext for your death was the mouldy cheese you ate in the round before. It made you very ill and you took a nap (passed out) on the floor, only to be discovered by Marshal Murat who took no mercy.
Thanks to Pever, Sapi and Myrddraal for running. Well done, Tincow. I was hoping to escape on the boat somehow, but fate intervened. I haven't kept all my PMs, but roughly.
Strength 6
Survival 6, I think
Mace (3, 6 with training)
1 - I went to the city area, expecting it to be quite wealthy and little inhabited. Met and teamed up with DoH and Roadkill
2-X we continued as we wanted to, avoiding any action. We ditched DoH after he didn't send orders in to Sapi, so continued. Eventually, I betrayed and killed him with the mace, and then headed for the boat. Made contact with Iggy, but then he went off, and the boat became a forbidden zone, so I went out and got shot.

Well, good game all !
Was a lot of fun up until GeneralH wasted me near the church, whilst while reading the write up there where moments where it all could have turned out differently - but at least I made him bleed :laugh4:
Special thanks to Pevergreen, Sapi and Myrddraal for hosting the game. Myrddraal, your stories were a great read and I (and many others most certainly) really appreciate the effort.
:balloon2:
I have deleted most of my early messages, so I've lost everything up until my last teammate got killed and I set out on my own. I grabbed everything I could carry and made for the clinic:
You strap on Cimmerian's armour, shoulder your bow and arrow, and gather your automatic pistol and broadsword. It's a heavy load, and the armour is uncomfortable against your wound.
Small rivulets from the rain have run down the slope ahead of you, leaving now dried beds. The sun is shining and the land is drying after the thunderstorm. Though you are heading downhill, the walk is surprisingly hard. Eventually you reach the base of the mountain, and you glance at the open fields ahead of you. The clinic is a small blob, far enough away to be almost indistinguishable from the nearer bushes. You see nobody, and continue on your way, keeping low and sticking to what available cover there is.
As you get closer to the clinic, you notice a corpse lying in a field. From a distance you can already see that it is General Handkerchief, and that his corpse has already been stripped of its kit.
After a hard treck, you eventually jump into a small ditch about 400 or so metres from the clinic and pause to catch your breath. This is a good place to observe the clinic from. The windows seem broken, and bordered up in a rather clumsy manner, you can't see through them however.
Your breath regained, you circle round to get a good view of the front door, you decide to move a little closer. Taking another look, you still see nobody. You decide to settle down and watch the clinic for a little longer. The fact that the windows are barricaded makes you cautious, why would anyone bother to do that if they didn't intend to stay there.
By the door you can just make out a tripod, but whatever was standing on it is gone. You settle down to watch for the rest of the day. You hear nothing and see nobody.
Being as quiet and as stealthy as possible, I discard everything except the pistol. I stash it in a hard-to-find spot and cover it with leaves and twigs so that it is less visible. I then circle the clinic until I find the side that allows for the best avenue of approach without being seen from inside. I then move up to the outside wall of the clinic, quickly or slowly, depending on what seems like the best way to arrive without drawing attention.
Once I am to the wall, I stop and listen for sounds from inside. If I do not hear anything for 15 minutes, I will enter and attempt to find medication to further heal myself.
During this entire 'turn' I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire. If I ever see anyone, I will attempt to kill them unless it is obvious that I am outgunned and/or outmaneuvered. My preferred method of attack is to sneak up from the rear or the flank. I will hold fire until I am close-in if I can accomplish it without being detected. If I am outgunned, outmaneuvered, or otherwise at a disadvantage in combat, I will attempt to retreat to safety.
You move back to a safe distance from the clinic, and finding cover behind a bush discard the heavy armour, sword and bow. You place them under the bush and break some branches to cover them. It's not the best of disguises, but the kit shouldn't be visible from a distance.
To the west you hear two shotgun rounds then a few seconds later an explosion rings out, closely followed by the tolling of a bell. A few seconds pass, then a second explosion follows, then quiet.
Concentrating on the task at hand you ready your pistol and crouch, ready to go. A short sprint brings you to the clinic wall, to the left of the door. You're breath is coming in short bursts, and your side aches. You crouch back to the wall, pistol aimed to your left.
This close you can clearly see the tripod. It has a video camera hanging from some electric cables to one side. The lens is broken and there are several broken pieces lying on the floor.
Something else that strikes you is the smell, you can't identify it, but it's not pleasant. Keeping an eye out for anyone approaching from outside, you listen for anything inside. You hear nothing. The door is also slightly ajar, something that would seem to indicate that the clinic is empty.
Cautiously, you slide along the wall till you are right next to the door. In one movement, you swing, kick the door, and spin into cover on the right of the doorway. There is no movement or sound from within. You spin around the doorframe, finally looking inside, pistol at the ready.
Your stomach turns, but your training keeps you from gagging and shock. There are flies everywhere, and the reason for the smell immediately becomes apparent. Almost at your feet lies the corpse of your friend and ally AggonyDuck. He lies on his back, eyes glazed and staring at the ceiling. A single large bullet wound spread across his chest shows how he died. Worse still, Shlin hangs by a rough rope from the ceiling. His corpse sways gently, his tongue hangs loose, his face frozen in an expression of horror.
A heavy table has been overturned facing the door, presumably to provide cover for any defenders, and the remaining furniture has been piled up against the windows. All the cupboards are open, the shelves ransacked. Both AggonyDuck and Shlin have nothing but the clothes on their back remaining.
Despite the fact that others have obviously been here before, there are still odds and ends of medical equipment, mostly lying on the floor and scattered around. You find some antiseptic cream, an odd roll of bandages, surgical needle and stitches and some syringes with suspicious looking green liquid inside.
Your wound has clotted and sealed itself on both sides thanks to the herbs you found, but it is tender and fragile, threatening to open again when you exert yourself. Trying hard to ignore the smell and flies, you gently apply antiseptic. Gritting your teeth, you begin to stitch up the wounds, first on the back then the front. You then bandage the wound to hold it together.
Further examination of the area indicates two bullet holes in the barricade of one window, and a single rifle casing behind the table. You rest, and take up watch through cracks in the window barricades. Your remaining equipment apart from the pistol is still hidden outside. Nobody comes this way.
If there is any further use I can get out of the medical equipment, I do so. If not, or when I am done, I cut down Shlin and prop him up behind the barricade/table so that only the top of his head is visible to anyone entering through the door. I then drag AggonyDuck's body outside so that it lies facedown, as if it fell while approaching the Clinic door.
I then go to my equipment hiding spot and drag it all inside the clinic. I prop the stuff up against the back wall so that it is visible when someone enters, but arranged so that it looks like it is spare equipment that was put there for temporary storage. The only exception to this is the helmet of the armor, which I place on Shlin's head.
I then find a spot outside the Clinic where I am hidden from sight, but can still see the doorway. The closer the better, but I prefer superior cover to proximity. When I am happy with my covered area, I fire into the air. If my position is close to the doorway, I can fire from the covered position. If my position is far away from the doorway, I fire from the doorway and then quickly move to the covered position. The firing will be three shots immediately after one another, followed by a single shot 15 seconds later. If I fire by the door, I pick up the shell casings and take them with me.
As before, during this entire 'turn' I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire.
You add another layer of bandaging to your now stitched wounds. It's still hard to breath (it seems the bolt may have penetrated or collapsed part of your lung), but the bandaging and stitching now take a lot of the pressure and movement hurts less. You leave the syringes where they are, you have no idea what they contain.
Twitching your nose against the smell, you lift Shlin out of his noose, and prop his head against the upturned table. From behind, he looks ridiculously uncomfortable, his legs flat out behind him and his chin lying on the table edge, but anyone glancing through the door could easily be forgiven for mistaking him to be alive, apart from maybe the flies everywhere.
Dragging AggonyDuck leaves a patch of blood where he lay, but soon he is outside by the door, face looking to the sky. Whilst outside you glance around to check for approaching targets, and, finding none, gather up your hidden kit and take it inside. Sword, bow and quiver you prop upright against the wall behind the helmet, next to it you put the armour and bag. Finally you ram the helmet down on Shlin's head.
Outside there are several alternative areas of cover. The fact that the area is mostly open seems a mixed blessing; you will surely spot anyone approaching over the open ground, but decent cover which will conceal you is hard to find. There is the ditch you used when you approached the clinic, but this is quite some distance to the east of the clinic, and as such is probably on the route of anyone approaching. It seems that lying flat behind the bush you used to conceal your kit provides, if not the best defence, the best concealment, and a good view of the front door.
You give a final review of your setup and have a bite to eat (stale bread again). Everything is in place.
Raising your pistol, you fire a shot, wait 3, fire again, wait 3 and fire a last time. The trap is set.
I wait in ambush, staying as quiet and alert as possible. If I see someone approach, I will do my best to determine the optimal moment to attack. Preferably a time when their back is to me and they are engaged in some other activity, such as searching a body. If I can move closer before the attack without being detected, I will do so.
Lying in ambush here gives you a good chance to rest after your exhertions. You lie on your stomach behind the bush, propping your chest up with your elbows to take the weight off your wounds.
Rest and recuperation are all well and good, but you also keep an eye out for anyone making their way to the clinic. It's mostly open ground from here to the main road. There are some dips and some cover, but it's a lot of ground for someone to cover in the open, and you're watching.
However, nobody heads this way, and you don't hear anything from the rest of the island
Same instructions as before:
I wait in ambush, staying as quiet and alert as possible. If I see someone approach, I will do my best to determine the optimal moment to attack. Preferably a time when their back is to me and they are engaged in some other activity, such as searching a body. If I can move closer before the attack without being detected, I will do so.
Hours have passed and still nothing has stirred across the open plain. Still, you manage to pass the time by attempting to swat a mosquito that's bothering you.
Taking a snack on stale roll, you realise that your food supplies are getting low. They should last you another turn or two.
The flies around the Clinic are thriving in the heat, and you're mostly downwind of the place, adding a distinct stench to the area.
You hear nothing, and nobody comes your way.
I grumble to myself about how there's always something going wrong with my plans. I consider cannibalism for a moment before deciding it would probably make me sick. I then gather whatever food and medical supplies I have managed to scrounge and leave the clinic. I do not take any of the armor or other medieval weaponry with me. I want to travel fast and light, relying on stealth as much as possible.
I will.
I move west and attempt to make it to the Apple Orchard. If I cannot move that far this 'turn' I make as much progress as I can. I specifically avoid the Small Church by a very wide margin, preferring to move southwest into E5, then west to the Orchard. I try to travel in areas that provide cover for me, specifically avoiding walking near the Main Road, except when I have to cross over it.
If I make it to the Orchard this 'turn' I will scavenge for fruit as best I can without drawing attention to myself.
As usual, during this entire 'turn' I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire.
You gather your kit bar the medieval armour, braving the smell and disgusting scene of the clinic only long enough to recover your bow and quiver. Looking at the flies licking Shlin's staring eyeballs you decide that cannibalism would definitely be a bad thing.
As you set off, you are all too aware that the openness that would have exposed approaching enemies also exposes you. You do your best, but despite you efforts you spend most of the time between cover. It makes you shudder to think what powerful long range weapons might be out there.
You intend to cut the corner of the forbidden zone E6 as closely as possible, to avoid other players. Looking at the map you note that the main road runs very close but never enters that zone, so as soon as you reach the road in D6 you take a left and begin walking south. You stick to the road only for long enough to avoid entering the forbidden zone, then veer off to the east, keeping to the cover which is denser here.
To the east you hear 5 distant shots, but they aren't nearby so you make note and continue your journey.
You decide to take a rest and, once safely clear of the danger zone, leave the road to find a more concealed area. There you look out for anyone approaching. Anticipating juicy apples you allow yourself a slightly larger portion of bread.
You are in E5, nobody comes your way.
I continue on to the Apple Orchard, where I do my best to gather enough food for 4-5 more 'turns' quickly, but stealthily. When that is done, I move towards the eastern edge of the orchard, near the border with E5.
(Up to this point I will have my gun drawn and prepared to fire. If I ever see anyone, I will attempt to kill them unless it is obvious that I am outgunned and/or outmaneuvered. My preferred method of attack is to sneak up from the rear or the flank. I will hold fire until I am close-in if I can accomplish it without being detected. If I am outgunned, outmaneuvered, or otherwise at a disadvantage in combat, I will attempt to retreat to safety.)
As the trees begin to thin out, I drop to my stomach and crawl forward, to make myself as undetectable as possible. I continue crawling forward until I reach a point where I can see a decent ways out of the forest to the east and northeast. In choosing my position, I favor better cover over better visibility, if I cannot get both at once. As quietly as possible, I use leaves, twigs, and fallen brush to camouflage myself. I then remain lying down in the prone position with my gun drawn. I fire at anyone that approaches, but I will hold my fire if it looks like they will get closer without noticing me. In such a situation, I will fire when I feel like I have a good chance of hitting them. I will aim for the head or the weapon-arm, whichever is easier to hit.
Making your way towards the Orchard, you are extra cautious this last part of journey. well before there is any threat of being detected, you drop down and crawl, inching yourself forward.
Your progress is slow, and painful, the pressure on your side threatening to open your wounds despite their extensive stitching and bandaging. You rest, your breath doesn't come easy like this either.
Looking ahead you get your first glimpse of the orchard. Large red and green apples hang off trees in neat ordered rows. Ladders are propped against some trees in order to make picking easy. Some of the trees have clearly been visited, clear bare batches showing where apples have been picked. There is a rusting tractor in one corner of the orchard. The orchard is smaller than you expected, you can see to the opposite edge.
Seeing no one, and given the pain in your side, you rise to a crouch, and move swiftly to the tractor, taking cover behind its large wheels. Waiting a few minutes, you assure yourself that the area is clear.
The first apple you pick you bite into there and then, sending clear juices spraying. As quickly as you can, given your injury, you have gathered a good supply of food. Enough certainly to last the few remaining rounds.
Making your way back to the eastern side, you realise that the tractor could provide excellent cover and camouflage. Hiding in the overgrown grass below the tractor, you cover yourself as best you can with long grass ripped from the orchard's overgrown boundaries.
You wait and watch, but nobody comes this way.
I will remain hidden in the grass below the tractor, doing my best to stay still and make as little noise as possible.
I will fire at anyone that approaches, but I will hold my fire if it looks like they will get closer without noticing me. In such a situation, I will fire when I feel like I have a good chance of hitting them. I will aim for the head or the weapon-arm, whichever is easier to hit.
And the rest is history...

I must fire my pistol true. I must shoot straighter than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will.
When I was writing the final chapter of your life, I wasn't sure wether to have you live or die. My initial idea was to have you surrender after long hesitation, dissalusioned with the game and the government that gave him his mission. This dissalusionment was to be represented by feeling that despite the fact that he won, the government were the real winners in the affair.
Then I remembered the little passage about the pistol. It fit so well with the situation I envisaged, so I decided you would die defying your new enemy rather than submit.
Because my decision (to surrender then changing my mind thinking of the pistol) mirrored the decision of your character, it made the ending extra special for me.
Thank you very much for that short paragraph, it made the game for me
Actually Shlin if I remember correctly, because you didn't PM me I made you commit suicide in the clinic.
@Ichigo, again you died because you didn't PM me. The pretext for your death was the mouldy cheese you ate in the round before. It made you very ill and you took a nap (passed out) on the floor, only to be discovered by Marshal Murat who took no mercy.
Like I said I thought I was already dead. It probably could have been avoided if I would have knocked out Ignoramus, since it all started because I was knocked unconscious by him. I'm sorry Myrd. If there's a next time I'll do better.

It's ok Ichigo, I think your punishment was appropriately embarrasing. You've paid the price, so no need to be sorry
Yeah it was. I still don't understand why I got a camera as a weapon.
I had a 10 10 6 guy and I was WoGGed. Damn.

WoGed for being too lazy to send more than a 4 word order, which usually read along the lines of : Stay where I am.
I placed a forbidden zone on Caius, and he said something like "Move one square left". That wasn't good enough for me, here's what followed:
You turn to leave your hiding place at the top the lighthouse, gathering your things. Opening the door to the stairwell you notice that there was a leak in the roof when it rained. The stairs are wet, but at least it has stopped raining.
You have no time to waste; the forbidden zone will soon be active. Taking the steps two at a time, you race downwards. However, the wet stairs betray you. Feet slipping out from beneath you, you tumble down the stairs, finally knocking yourself out on the floor.
Later in the day, when the forbidden zones become active, a dull explosion is heard from within the lighthouse.
That wasn't good enough for me

Yes I am, if nobody else wants to try their hand?
Do I have to follow the mafia queue rules for this?
Thank you very much for that short paragraph, it made the game for me
Actually, disillusionment was the best way to interpret it, since it was a shameless rip off of the US Marine Corps Rifleman's Creed, or at least the version of it that I remembered from Full Metal Jacket. Not exactly a movie that promotes harmony with the 'establishment.' I have a thing for movie quotes. I annoy my coworkers with them on a daily basis.
No, it's a different kind of game, so it isn't hampered by the queue.

In a way, the fact that it's the "Rifleman's Creed" or whatever, makes the story even better, since you're meant to be a special forces operative
@Ichigo, I do need a little time to rest my fingers from typing, and come up with something to make the next game different (and better). Suggestions on a postcard please.

Alright the PMs that I still have (Should be most of them):
Initial PM:
Ratings:
Strength: 7
Survival: 9
Weapon: Bullet Proof Vest (unrateable)
Desription: Your stats are high, but you have nothing but a bulletproof vest. It protects your chest and groin. It would pay to find a weapon, and quick.
So I had some really nice stats, but a real dud of a "weapon". I need something better than that, so I started in the Clinic. My first PM to pever was:
Alright, I will start in the Clinic.
If anyone comes to me, I will try to grab whatever I can, perhaps a needle or something, and try to stab them with it. God, I hope that works.
Unfortunately for me, shlin had a similar idea to myself:
You get to the Clinic safe, but trip over some hidden wire as you enter it. Someone jumps on you, and you fight for a prolonged period. You seperate, exhausted. You are slightly stronger than Shlin28, but he is faster. You both call an un-easy truce. You search the Clinc, finding a bottle of Laxatives and Sleeping pills (unrateable)
You have 9 turns of food and water left.
An evil grin comes to my face... I noticed the trip wire he had and a fiendish plan came to me...
shlin offered me an alliance, which I naturally "accpeted"
Since we are both in the same area (the Clinic), and neither of us seem to have any advantage over each other, i would like to request an alliance with u against other members.
Hope you would accept my offer,
Your friendly neighbourhood midgit
I never meant to honour it.
I then come up with the idea of travelling along the coast to C7 and into B6, keeping clear of the mansion. I assumed someone would be in there waiting to strike at us. We didn't have a real weapon between us, so I didn't like our odds. Then I sent this PM to pever:
I will move along the coast, on C7 and enter the woods at B6. I want to keep clear of the Mansion.
In addition, I will try to get a chance to put my sleeping pills in shlin's water, to try to get him to sleep. If I get the chance, and he falls asleep, I will take all of his stuff, except for a turn's worth of supplies. Then I will leave him where he is.
I was feeling particularly nasty, so I though that I would give him a turns worth of supplies and then see what happens to him. Pity he didn't get his next PMs in.
My PM came back with:
Your plan works, you get to the woods at B6 without a hitch. No one is there, you have enough food and water to last the game.
Followed closely by shlin's:
Traitor! (shakes fists at CA):wall::shame:
May the spirit of the mighty midgit haunt you forever!
This was when Myrd started to take over the writing. My first turn to him was:
Alright, I'm currently in C6, on the mountains. Therefore I will move around the side of the mountain, keeping low and avoiding fights. I will try to keep out of sight of the viewing platform if possible and iwll hide in the smoke for as long as I can.
So I will move to D5, keeping away from the church, just staying on the mountain side, then I will move to D4, keeping low and near the mountains.
I will then, once in D4, go to the well and pour all of my laxatives and sleeping pills into the bucket :laugh3: ! Then I shall run back to cover, as close as possible to it.
If someone drinks from the bucket they will probably be overcome with he laxatives and sleeping pills, so I will run after them and choke them with my trip-wire.
If I am attacked I would like to run, but if that isn't possible then I will charge at them and try to choke them to death with my trip-wire and take whatever stuff they have.
This would have left me in a strong position and certainly would have been cool. I know that in the next game everyone is going to be paranoid about the well :laugh3:
My PM came back
After a short and careful walk, you make your way to the eastern foot of the mountain. Behind you see a small plume of smoke begin to rise from the southern side of the wood you just left.
Pressing on, you find easy cover on the ascent. The mountain is wooded, and you move from tree to tree, keeping well out of sight of the viewing platform. Youre a fit man, but nonetheless the ascent is tiring, and you dont want to get too close to the platform. Glancing ahead, you cant see it, but it cant be far off.
Suddenly, something crashes through the undergrowth to your right. Crouching down low, you try to see what could possibly have made the noise. Nothing moves. Suddenly, far up the slope, and far away from whatever it was that made the noise, you see two men. Not hanging around to find out more, you dive into the undergrowth and lie flat on your belly.
You hold still, out of sight, for what seems an eternity. After a while, you dare to peak through the foliage and see a heavily armoured man wielding a double handed sword, making his way towards you. Bullet proof vests are no help against blades. Further up the hill, another man is just visible covering the area with a bow.
You figure it might be time to make a discrete exit, but the armoured man is a little close for comfort. All of a sudden, a cry of pain rings out from the man further up the slope, and the armoured man turns back.
You’re not sure what’s going on, but you do know that it involves weapons you can’t match. You slip and slide fast down the slope. Glancing back, you hear a single shot. Guns now! Much faster than you climbed it you’re soon at the base of the mountain in C6, close to the fires in the woods.
The woods in C6, where you saw smoke earlier, are ablaze now, the wind blowing the smoke into your face and up the mountain.
You’re bewildered, but unharmed, and not where you hoped to be, you’ve made it to the edge of the woods at the base of the mountain in B5. Rain clouds are being carried over the island by the wind to the North East, hopefully the rain should dampen the fire you’ve witnessed today.
***********************
Hey sorry about the confusion in my last post to you.
You are in C6, not B5 or whatever I said at the end.
Sorry about that (and the typos, and the overuse of the word "suddenly" in the description, it was a bit rushed)
Myrddraal
So I decided to head to the well:
As you gather your things and prepare to set off, a thin haze of light rain begins to fall. The kind of rain that doesn't seem too bad, but before long soaks you from head to toe. You keep to the undergrowth making your way around the southern side of the mountain, slowly.
It's very difficult to see anything ahead; the clouds are darkening the sky and land. You see sheet lightning, and hear the distant roll of thunder. Small rivulets form all around you, running down the slope. Miserable weather.
You find yourself following the main road north of the church, but before long find this a little exposing, and decide to keep on across country, to avoid detection. A bolt of forked lightning strikes just to your south, leaving a bright purple after image in his eyes. Thunder booms. You calm your nerves, and continue cautiously. Almost like an echo, explosions ring out not too far away to the south. A few shots are heard, then another explosion. It sounds like the church is seeing some action. Very faintly you hear a shot, then later another coming far from the east.
Suddenly, much closer to your south, you hear machine gun fire, followed by two loud shots, possibly shotgun fire. As you press ahead, the machine gun fire rattles again, followed by another thud of a shotgun. Later, more shots, then silence. It’s time to leave the church well behind. You continue your route through the pouring rain.
The well isn't hard to find, a dirt track passes it, seeming to come from the church and heading to the harbour. You walk up the well and, fumbling in your wet pack, extract the laxatives and sleeping pills. Dropping them into the bucket with a chuckle, you make your way just south of the well and try your best to shelter from the rain under some trees.
The cold wind blows and you watch the well, but nobody comes this way.
You have enough food for 3 more rounds, but plenty of water.
In my next turn, the great saga of the damn Mulberry Bush starts:
You sit and patiently watch the well, hoping for someone to fall into your trap, but none approach.
In your boredom, you attempt to strike up a conversation with a nearby mulberry bush, but it never responds.
Damn that Bush! Pine trees are much better conversationists! My next turn:
No one drinks from the well.
You search for food for hours, then realise that the mulberry bush you were lieing on was food.
You manage to stock up on a few more days worth of supplies.
And again:
You stay by the well. It has stopped raining, but the landscape is soaked, the trees dripping. The area seems so peaceful; it is hard to believe that danger may be lurking around every corner.
You watch the well, and check your food supplies. Some mulberry berries, some water, and a couple of mouldy bread rolls. Not great, but it’ll do. You stare resentfully at the now bear bush. It stares back at you, mirroring your resentment. You consider the possibility that you might be going mad, the things you have witnessed have been horrible enough, and it seems that there are dangerous people with dangerous weapons around every corner.
Yet this place seems peaceful enough, nobody comes your way.
By this stage I am clearly going mad and getting bored, so I decided to venture out and see the sights that this island offered...
You make your way south, keeping to the undergrowth and staying as quiet as you can. The track that runs west to east at the well has a side-track that heads south. It’s basically a muddy path. You stay close to it, close enough to notice anyone walking along it, but far enough away that you can quickly make a run into cover.
You pause, you have heard something ahead. You crouch low and listen. Two people are making their way along the track. They have firearms. A lump forms in your throat, after your relatively peaceful time at the well, the appearance of former classmates brings back memories of shots and explosions all around.
There no sticking around here. You bolt into the woods. Behind you, someone shouts, but you don’t look back, and they don’t fire.
Much later, you make it to the orchard. Large red and green apples hang off trees in neat ordered rows. Ladders propped against some trees make picking easy. Some of the apples have been picked, but not many, it seems this area hasn’t been much frequented; the trees are all full of fruit. There is a rusting tractor in one corner of the orchard, out of fuel.
You hear shots coming from the mountain to the east. There is a pause, then more shots. Finally there is quiet. Later, at the time given for the forbidden zones to become active, you hear two dull explosions, both to the east.
Now I know that those two explosions were probably Caius and shlin
You stock up on the ripe large apples, throwing them into your sac alongside the remaining Mulberry berries, and head back north. The two you saw have left clear tracks in the undergrowth, grass pushed back and footprints clear in the muddy track. However at the well the tracks leave the road heading northwards. There's no sign that the well has been used, and there's certainly no unconsious soiled targets lying around.
You set up to watch the well again, trying to keep away from the malevolant bush. You hear nothing, and nobody comes your way.
So now I was getting really bored, my trap hadn't worked (Though it would have if I had just stayed in place a few turns more), so I decided to venture out again, this time towards the church. I wanted to avoid being seen from the steeple at all costs (assuming a sniper was up there) and was hoping to sneak in and choke the sniper, setting up where they were.
But...
You set off westwards, along the dirt track that seems to head towards the church. At first it seems safe enough, but you soon begin to worry. You suspect that if there's anyone in the church, they'll be keeping a lookout from the bell tower and you fear that you'll be sighted.
Soon you're making your way through the thick undergrowth, just to one side of the track. The area is wooded, and you can't see the church. 'If I can't see them, they can't see me' you tell yourself.
As you get closer to the church, you make your way further from the track and deeper into the undergrowth. The church is in a clearing, with the door to the south. You make your way through the undergrowth so that you're directly south of the clearing, and then start to move a little closer.
Finally, the church is in sight. You can clearly make out the front entrance through the undergrowth. You've been careful to stay in the undergrowth however, well out of sight of the steeple. Examining the church, you see that two heavy front doors are open. Most of the windows are smashed, and you can just make out broken pews within.
You wait, and listen but hear nothing. Finally, you move a little closer and look up at the steeple. Almost immediately shotgun fire flashes from the steeple and several pellets impact into your bullet proof vest. You're knocked violently backwards, pain spreads through your chest. Recovering quickly, you sprint for the cover of the main door, pain jolting through you with every stride. You leap through the doorway, a second round of pellets flying around you.
In a second you take in your surroundings. The church is a ruin, the wooden pews are strewn about at odd angles, some of them cleanly snapped into two, some charred and burnt. All of the small windows are smashed, stained glass littering the floor. The altar cloth is singed and lying to one side, stained with blood. There are also blood stains leading out of the door, as if corpses have been dragged. A puddle of vomit soils the entrance. There is a small side chapel, and the stairs to the bell tower are visible behind the altar.
Down that stair well, a grenade bounces, rolling to the base of the altar. Once more you leap out of danger, into the side chapel, and crawl behind the doorway. The explosion rings in your ears, or is that the church bell tolling? You clutch your chest, you are completely winded after the multiple bullet hits and running. Still, you are hidden; you should have time to regain your breath. However, it seems your hiding place is a little obvious, and when the next grenade bounces into the side chapel, your desperate scrambling is not enough to avoid the explosion. Your ears are deafened; everything goes white, then black, then ceases to be.
RIP.

I walked into the church, dressed quite smartly in the corpses of Twilight, Warluster, and two others who died at the school (greater and warmaster I think). Unfortunatly, survival rating one and the fact that I apparently decided to perform my actions in the reverse order I listed them got me pwnd.
'Role' PM -
Strength: 10
Survival: 1
Weapon: Remington 870 (shotgun) (8)
Description: You are incredibly strong, with a good close range weapon, but terrible at surving.
And here's the write-up of my death;
As you begin your journey to the church, a thin haze of light rain begins to fall. The kind of rain that doesn't seem too bad, but before long soaks you from head to toe. You're quite a clumsy man already (survival 1), and combined with your home made armour, you make quite a racket clambering along the main road. The clotted blood from your 'armour' begins to run in the rain.
The rain thickens, and you pick up the pace, whilst being careful to keep you gun as dry as possible. The clouds are darkening the sky and land, you see sheet lightning, and hear the distant roll of thunder.
Leaving the main road in E5, you take a dirt track heading north east, towards the church. You slow, making your way carefully, eyes scanning your darkening and soaked surroundings. The church is ahead, and it appears abandoned.
You enter cautiously, checking the main isle, the back rooms, and a side chapel to Saint Sebastian. They are all empty. The rain is thundering on the roof of the Church, with several leaks causing a quieter but constant dripping noise. You close the main doors. Pulling out your bloodstained bible, you place it on the altar and search through the pages, bloody fingers staining the paper.
You search through services for the consecration of churches, passages for the blessings of relics. As you flip the pages, lighting flashes and thunder echoes around you. Blinding white light fills the church. You jump, then chuckle at your foolishness. God doesn't strike people with lightning these days does he? Laughing nervously, you look through the liturgical texts on relics again.
The door swings open, and before you have time to react two grenades fly through the air and detonate almost immediately. Shrapnel flies and impacts into your chest, and you collapse on the altar steps. The wooden pews are strewn about at odd angles, some of them cleanly snapped into two. Small flames lick around some of the drier wood.
Clenching your jaw with the pain in your chest, you swing your raise your shotgun and send a spray of pellets towards the doorway. But the door has swung shut and your pellets impact harmlessly into the wood. You cock the shotgun and search around for a target, but see none. As you clamber to your feet, one of the windows to the side shatters. You swing your shotgun and fire, pellets flying into the rain. In horror you watch the grenade come through the now shattered window. Time slows, and you try to dive to the side, but the grenade explodes on impact with the floor. White light blinds you, sound deafens you, sharp pain fills you, and everything goes black. Time to meet your maker, you have some explaining to do...
RIP
My one regret is that I only killed Twilight and Warmaster before going down. :(
One thing you could possible think about is a new map.

That's an idea, I'll think about this game and maybe if I have time a new map over the next week, then I'll go about starting the next game. I've thought of one new role. Any special role, special object, special place or special weapon ideas anyone has please PM me

Congratulations, TinCow, you certainly have deserved to win!
This is how things panned out for me:
My initial PM:
Strength: 4
Survival: 10
Weapon: Army Knife (5)
You are not too great in a fight, but your survival rating lets you be almost invisible if you want.
My first impression on seeing these stats was that I'd have to go it alone. Not being that strong, and without a good weapon, I couldn't trust anyone.
Original First turn orders:
Right, I would like to start in the woods in C7. I will use my knife to cut branches, vines etc. to camoflauge myself. I then climb up a high tree and observe who passes by and what goes on around me.
If, in the process of cutting branches etc. I find a weapon or food, then I'll take those items.
I will remain concealed in my position, regardless of who passes by.
If discovered by someone with a ranged weapon, my response will be to run until either they give up pursit or they catch up with me. If they catch up and are hostile, then I shall charge them with my knife and hope for the best. If they catch up and seek and alliance, I shall only agree if they are not carrying a gun, and even then I shall be on the alert, staying near them, and ready to plunge my knife into their heart at the first sign of treachery.
If discovered by someone with a melee weapon, my response will be to run until either they give up pursit or they catch up with me. If they catch up and are hostile, then I shall throw my knife at them jump on them, attempting to wrestle their weapon of them and then kill them. If they catch up and seek and alliance, I shall only agree if they are carrying an inferior weapon, and even then I shall be on the alert, staying near them, and ready to plunge my knife into their heart at the first sign of treachery.
Ignoramus.
My starting position was a reflection of my stats; I obviously didn't want to be discovered in my vulnerable position. I had originally intended to remain in my hiding place until I could ambush someone.
First Turn Orders:
Hello pevergreen,
Sorry about the change of plan, but I've realised that hiding up a tree isn't the wisest thing I could do, so I'm taking a different approach.
I wish to start in the mansion. My first action will be to immediately scour the building for weapons. I also want to keep an eye out for flammable liquids and matches. If I find any food or water around the place, then I'll grab that too.
If I hear anyone coming, then I'll hide immediately. If they don't have guns on them and walk past my hiding spot then I'll whip my hand out over their mouth and cut their throat. Naturally, I will then take all their items.
After I have completed my search, I wish to hide up on the top floor, preferrably near a window.
If anyone spots me, then I'll attempt to negotiate an alliance. If that fails, then I shall charge at them with my knife and fight to the death.
Ignoramus.
But then I realised that I needed a better weapon and quickly. I thought that the mansion would have larger probability of hidden weapons, and I was proven right.
You take a nice hiding position in the mansion, waiting to see if anyone is inside. A voice rings out, stating that they know where you are and that you are armed with a knife. Seeing that Ichigo has somehow spotted you, you accept his offer of an alliance. After searching the mansion you find only an M4(9) and a car in the driveway. You can not hotwire the car or open any part of it.
You have enough food and water to last the game, but must decide who gets the M4.
I was in luck; a M9 greatly increased my arsenal of weapons. However, annoyingly I now had Ichigo as an ally, something which I wished to avoid. Also, as Ichigo was weaponless except for a video camera, I obviously had to either give him my knife or hand over the M9. I had no intentions of letting the M9 out of my hands, so I agreed to hand my knife over to him. In return, I would take possession of the M9. Still, I was worried that Ichigo might literally stab me in the back. Taking no chances, I dealt with him.
Turn 2 Orders:
Ichigo hasn't replied to me, so although I hate doing this I'll have to otherwise we'll stall.
After taking possession of the gun and handing my knife over to Ichigo, I'll move 6 or so metres away from him and aim my gun at him. I will then order him to turn around and drop his knife. Once he has dropped his knife, I will order him forward 6 metres, with me following him with my gun at the ready. After picking up the knife, I will advance holding out my knife, and whack him on the head with my gun. When he is unconscious, I will tie him up(but leave his arms untied) and gag him(using his shirt if necessary). I will then leave him 3 turns supply of food and water, taking the rest for myself. I will also take any of his other items he has with him. I will leave a note apologising for his treatment, and explaining that I couldn't kill someone I'd allied with.
After that, I'll run to the woods at C6, concealing myself in the woods there. If anyone notices me, then the general policy is shoot first, ask questions later.
Ignoramus.
My meticulously detailed orders show how nervous I was that something would go wrong. Nothing did, however, and I now had plenty of food and water.
You carry your plan out to perfection, he doesnt put up any resistance.
You leave him tied up and run to the woods. You are there now, have enough food and water to last the game, with some scavanging, mainly for fresh water.
I now had two weapons and was starting to feel confident.
Turn 3 Orders:
Right.
First of all I shall fix my knife to the end of my gun(like a bayonnet).
Then I shall light a fire(I can do this as I have 10 survival, can't I?), and start a bushfire.
Next I shall stealthily make my way to the edge of the woods in C6. After that, I shall run like mad towards to the Clinic at D7. When the clinic is in view, I shall hide and catch my breath. When I am fully rested, I shall charge at the clinic covering myself with bursts of gunfire. When I reach the door, I shall force it open and pour gunfire into the room. If there is no one in there, I shall be very careful and search the place for anyone. If I still find no one, I shall ransack the place looking for weapons, food, water, medical supplies, or any other item.
If I see people in there who are still alive, I shall open fire and kill them, using my bayonnet if necessary.
Ignoramus.
Ok, so maybe this wasn't the wisest idea, but I was determined to go after a few people.
With a scrap of string from your pocket, a stick, a broken branch, and your awesome survival skills, you construct a bow and drill for fire lighting. Setting to work at the base of a tree, you get your first puff of smoke within minutes, and soon you're piling leaves hand sticks onto a small but healthy flame. The tree trunk is spitting sap, but you can see it'll catch. To be sure of your work, you carry burning branches and light stacks under nearby trees. The heat and smoke is rising, it's time to be moving. Using the same string you used for the bow, you tie your knife to the barrel of your gun. It's not a very good job, but it'll do.
Sprinting across C6 with the mountain looming to your right you can't help but think to yourself that you're running across open ground not one square from the viewing platform. You duck from cover to cover, trying to zigzag, waiting for the killer shot to come, but it doesn't. Out of breath, you dive into a small ditch, you're not a fit as you might wish. The clinic is ahead.
You watch for a long time, catching your breath and watching the clinic. Nothing moves, but that certainly doesn't mean it's empty. Clutching your M4, you check the bolt, check the clip. You don't really know how to use the weapon, but you know enough. Leaping up, you point the gun at the clinic windows and fire a burst, missing the window but hitting the clinic wall. Recovering from the strong recoil, you run from cover to cover, letting off rounds into the clinic windows, breaking them into thousands of fragments. Letting out a scream of anger, you approach the door, kick it down and let loose a few more rounds for good measure.
You pause, there's no sound but the tinkling of broken glass. The clinic is empty, but it looks like someone has been here before. Searching around the debris, you find only bandages, antiseptic wipes, a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. If only you'd had that earlier, the fire lighting would have been easier at least.
Later, looking north through the broken windows, you see the smoke. Your fire has certainly caught well, but there are rain clouds blowing in from the North East, the fire may not last long. No one comes your way.
I was relieved to say the least, when I discovered that the clinic was empty. I was very happy with my new position. I had a great hideout that was easily defendable by my M9, and I was sure that I would have some visitors soon. Still, I had to take precautions.
Turn 4 Orders.
I was overconfident at this time, and later events were to make me realise the danger of my position.
[spoil]As you begin to barricade yourself in the clinic, a thin haze of light rain begins to fall. The kind of rain that doesn't seem too bad, but before long soaks you from head to toe. You’re glad for the shelter the clinic provides; at least you’ll be out of the rain. You pile up all the furniture below the windows, and try to place benches and other bits and bobs to block them up. You don’t have any nails, so it’s hard work and the result is shoddy. Your barricades probably would stop a bullet, but they’d stop an arrow, and more importantly, they stop people seeing in.
You run through the rain to deposit your pack of cigarettes. The clouds are darkening the sky and land, you see sheet lightning, and hear the distant roll of thunder. You soon find yourself back in the rain, fiddling with the video camera, trying to work out how to use it. Soon though, without getting too wet, you have the camera set up on a tripod outside the door, and the remote viewer set up and working inside. You settle down for a snack and a drink, and wait, watching the viewer. The rain is managing to soak your barricades, and thought they stop you getting wet, the wind blows through the broken windows.
To the east, you hear faint explosions, followed by shots, then more explosions. It’s very difficult to see anything beyond a short distance with the camera due to the rain, and this starts to worry you a bit. You take a quick peak through one of the slots you left at the window.
Was that movement? Quite some distance away, perhaps 100 meters, you fancied you saw a figure leap down into cover. You rush back to your remote viewer, and grab your gun, tensing. Suddenly, you hear a shot, and the remote viewer goes dead, the screen shows only white noise. Someone out there has just shot your camera! They must be a crack shot to have pulled that one off. Claustrophobia sets in, you’re besieged.
You take a tentative look at the window. With a thunderous crack, a shot echoes and a bullet hits your wooden barricade inches above your head. You scramble back down away from the window. You pull a heavy desk to the middle of the room, and shelter behind it, gun trained on the doorway. You can’t see anyone, but if anyone tries to get in through that door, you’ll blast the hell out of them.
However, nobody approaches, it simply continues to rain outside.
You have plenty of food and water.
I panicked at this point. I knew that sooner or later the sniper would attempt to storm the building, and as I daren't take any risks I had no way of tracking his movement.
Turn 5 Orders:
(I'm in a spot :sweatdrop: )
I shall remain where I am inside my barricade. I will refrain from shooting, unless he tries to storm the barricade.
If he charges, then I shall poke my gun through the window discreetly and open fire when he's 50 metres away.
Otherwise, I will just try and hide the fact that I have a gun, and not take any major risks.
Ignoramus.
I really had no choice but to sit it out, hoping for the best. What happened was beyond my best expectations.
Looking up, you see a madman attempting to storm the clinic with broadsword in hand. Reflexively, you shoot him in the chest, but he doesn't stop.
Panicking, you rush back inside, and take cover behind an overturned desk. AgonyDuck rushes inside and attempts to take your head off with the broadsword, but you are faster, and shoot him through the head.
You walk over and remove the sniper rifle that was strapped to AD's back, vowing never again to be surprised like you were just then.
Moving over to the windows, you begin scanning the surrounding area with renewed vigour.
Some small time later, you notice a figure moving through the bushes on the way to the clinic. Shouldering the rifle, you aim carefully for his chest, and fire.
Again, though, the shot is reflected, and this time the enemy has a better recourse than a broadsword. Pulling a grenade from his ammo-laden belt, GH tosses it onto the roof of the clinic.
You hit the ground to avoid the explosion, blinking to attempt to shake off the shellshock and the new wounds to your legs.
You crawl over to behind the table, facing the door, leaving the rifle where it was and putting trusty gun in hand.
You see a man jump into the room with a shotgun in hand, and fire repeatedly in his direction.
He manages to get a shot off, but the bullets clang into the ceiling and miss you entirely. Your shots, however, don't.
You walk over to examine GH's corpse. It has very little food but has an assortment of weapons, including a machine pistol, shotgun, and several grenades.
He also has on his person a strange display screen with several red dots on it.
You'll have to examine this further.
Somehow, I had managed to survive two assaults in the same turn. At the time, I thought GH and AggonyDuck were allied, but this wasn't the case. I now had an impressive arsenal of weapons: a knife, a sword, a machine pistol, an M9, a shotgun, a sniper rifle, and grenades. The strange device that I found on GH later proved to be very useful.
Turn 6 Orders:
First of all, I shall bandage my legs as best as possible with the bandages I picked up in the Clinic several days ago.
Then I shall sheath the sword through my belt, sling the rifle and shotgun over my back, push the machine pistol through my belt, and clip the grenades around my belt and shirt. As for GH's display screen, I shall take it with me also.
I shall attempt to light the now rather sorry looking clinic with my lighter. I then shall make my way towards the small church, being careful to keep myself hidden, holding the M9 with knife attached as a bayonnet.
If discovered and fired at crossing towards the church, I shall run for the nearest cover, firing bursts from the M9. I shall then unclip several grenades and hurl them in the direction of the gunfire, retreating towards the church.
If I spot someone and them don't spot me, I shall unsling my sniper rifle and snipe him, with the M9 and hangrenades at the ready in case I miss.
When I reach the church, I shall conceal myself, waiting to see if anyone appears or reveals themselves. If anyone appears at the windows. I shall take a pot shot at them with the sniper rifle. Then I shall procede with the following as well.
If they don't, I will unclip a grenade and hurl it at the door. At the same time, I will spray the windows with the M9 and lob grenades through the glassless windows. I shall then advance cautiously bursting fire with my M9. When the magazine is empty, I will whip out my machine pistol and unsheath my broadsword and charge towards the door, spraying in a direction around the building, and stabbing people at close quarters, especially at anyone I find inside.
Once inside, if I am still alive, I will start breaking down all furniture and baricade the now doorless doorway, block up the windows as best as I can(leaving narrow slits from which to fire from), and ransack the place for any weapons, food, water etc.
Only then shall I attempt to work out what GH's device is.
Ignoramus.
(There are certain advantages to having grenades.)
Thanks to my recently aquired weapons, I was now ready to take the offensive. The Medical Clinic at this stage was a mess, and I needed a more secure base of operations.
You torch the clinic, taking some time to get the fire started but eventually succeeding.
You follow orders exactly as given at the church, but stop short of wasting many grenades as it becomes clear that it is deserted.
There is no food left - someone has beaten you to it - but you do manage to create a barricade.
Continued examination of GH's device reveals that it displays the location of everyone who is still alive in the game.
It'll take you another turn to get used to using it, though.
Someone had very kindly taken out the former occupants of the church, and the building was now deserted. I was now thinking that I might actually have a chance at winning the game.
I can't remember my Turn 7 orders, but I basically just patrolled the church and studied GH's device.
The church is a ruin, the wooden pews are strewn about at odd angles, some of them cleanly snapped into two, some charred and burnt. All of the small windows are smashed, mostly by you. The altar cloth is singed and lying to one side, stained with blood. There are also blood stains leading out of the door, as if corpses have been dragged. A puddle of vomit soils the entrance.
On patrolling the area around the Church, you soon come across two corpses dragged not far from the Church. There is a foul odour about them, and you soon discover why.
Examining the first corpse, at first you cannot believe that this can be a man. Covered in blood, it wears two skulls hanging loosely on his shoulders, hacked in half, presumably with the Axe he wears at his side. What remains of KillF3nzy seems to be wearing several layers of clothes. He’s coated from head to toe in blood, plenty from his own wounds for sure, but some of it looks older and clotted. Suddenly you understand the presence of the vomit at the entrance of the church, as your stomach heaves at the sight.
The second corps is that of Dutch guy. His chest is a mess, it seems someone was taking no chances and emptied a clip of machine gun rounds into him. It might even have been your very own machine pistol that did the damage.
You return to the church and set about examining General Handkerchief’s device. It seems to show a simplified map of the area around you. Centred on the screen is a red dot. To the north there are two faint red dots, to the east and nearer, a stronger red dot. Later in the day two red dots move from the south east to the south west. It seems to indicate the location of nearby players. The two corpses you found do not appear on the screen, so clearly dead players aren’t displayed.
Nobody comes your way.
https://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7774/trackercw3.jpg
I was basically just waiting for people to come to me now.
Turn 8 Orders:
I shall climb to the Church Tower, and unsling my sniper rifle. I shall carry GH's device with me, as well as all my weapons. I shall scan carefully the mountain, the apple orchard, and the well. If I see anyone approach the church, I shall wait until they are well within range and snipe them. If there are two people, then I shall wait until they are well within range and in the open and open fire on them with the M9 and hurl a few grenades at them.
If anyone attempts to storm the building, I shall drop grenades near the door and open fire with the machine pistol or M9.
After that, I shall remain in the tower, being careful not to expose my head or any part of my limbs.
If I see a car approach the church, I shall wait until it is well within range, and fire at the tires with the M9. I shall then hurl grenades at it and fire at the occupants with the M9 and sniper rifle.
Ignoramus.
The reference to the car was related to Myrddraal posting a screenshot of car-keys. I was basically invincable to anyone except snipers, hence my caution in the steeple.
The steps to the church tower are in great need of repair. Clearly they were in a poor state before, but the recent damage to the church has shaken them even more. The steps consist of wooden planks attached to the sides, spiralling around the bell chord. Some steps are missing, in places more than one in a row, and the ascent is precarious. At the top a small platform exists for maintaining the bell.
You make a couple of trips, not wanting to weight yourself down with all the equipment, but soon you are in position in the church tower. The cover isn’t great, the windows large, but you hope to go unnoticed.
The two red dots to the north are still there. Taking a look through you sight, you can make out a figure on the viewing platform, but he’s well out of range so you hold your fire.
The tracking device shows two figures moving north from the orchard, and one moving south from the well. You take a look through your sniper sight, but it’s far away, and wooded in that direction, so it’s hard to find them. At one point they come very close, but separate again without a shot fired.
Later a third dot approaches the two dots on the mountain, and soon you hear shots from that direction. You can’t see anything through the sight, the platform is empty. One of the red dots winks out. More shots, then a second dot winks out. Finally there is quiet, and only one dot on the mountain.
Later, at the time given for the forbidden zones to become active, you hear two dull explosions, both to the north east.
In my commanding position, I just had to wait.
Again, I accidently deleted my PM of my Turn 9 orders, but I basically was going to snipe anyone who came in range.
The red dots on the device are moving again. The single remaining dot to the north on the mountain moves slowly eastwards till it dissapears out of range. The dot in the orchard spends some time there, then heads north agian, stopping once more at the well.
You manage to catch a few glances of the figure heading to the well through your sight, but it's hard to make them out. Certainly well out of range.
In your head you plan what you would do should an attack occur. The undergrowth comes quite close to the church, but anyone approaching along the track would be in the open and easily sniped. Anyone who gets too close, well, you've got plenty of explosives. You're feeling pretty confident, surely nobody has an arsenal as mighty as yours.
You hear nothing all day, and nobody comes this way.
I was really only worried about being taken by suprise, and that is what happened.
Turn 10 orders:
I will stay at my post, being alert and ready. I will be careful not to expose my head. I will be alert with my sniper rifle ready to snipe anyone who appears.
Ignoramus.
I had a feeling something would happen, and sure enough it did.
As you keep watch, it soon becomes apparent that the red dot to the west is heading this way. You ready your sniper rifle, and check the road for approaching figures. However, there is nobody to be seen, and a quick second check on the scanner shows that the approaching person is moving through the woods which surround the area.
You try to find the person in your scope, constantly referring to the tracking device to help you, but whoever it is seems to be going to great effort to stay out of sight.
Despite your efforts, soon the red dot is very close, and still unseen. In fact, it is not long before the scanner indicates that the target has moved just to the south of the clearing in which the church stands, close to the doorway.
At this range, you've discarded your sniper rifle. You aim the shotgun at close tree line to the south, watching for any sign of movement. Suddenly, you spot CountArach, creeping forward and peering up at the steeple. You squeeze the trigger and pellets fly, hitting CountArach directly, knocking him backwards. Somehow though, he regains his balance and sprints for the archway. How could he have survived a direct hit from the shotgun? Admittedly this isn't ideal range for a shotgun, but even so you decide he must have some kind of protection. You fire a second time, but just too late, CountArach is in the church!
Desperate to avoid taking fire yourself, you pull the pin of a grenade and toss it down the stairwell, into the main church. The explosion shakes the bell tower violently, demolishing the base of the already fragile stairs. The platform on which you stand gives way, and you grab hold of the bell cord to save yourself from falling. The bell tolls loudly, just above your head. You slide down the rope, ears ringing, and draw your machine pistol. The carnage in the church has been amplified by your grenade. The altar cloth is ablaze, as well as several of the pews. The church seems empty of life however. A quick glance at the tracking device gives away CountArach immediately; it seems he is lying in ambush inside the side chapel, close to the front entrance.
You are badly shaken by your fall down the tower. Taking no risks, you quickly unpin a second grenade and toss it through the archway to the side chapel. You rush through before the smoke has cleared, but no more action is necessary; the explosion has killed CountArach already.
You collapse into one of the pews, recovering from the shock of the first explosion. On second thoughts the idea of throwing grenades down a stairwell on which you stand seems less like a bright idea as before. The altar cloth has been burnt to a sinter, and the interior of the church is (if anything) even more of a wreak than it was before.
CountArach is wearing the remains of a bullet proof vest, but it seems his only weapon is a length of tripwire. If only you'd known, the grenades seem a little excessive considering. However he has a healthy stock of food, consisting mainly of ripe apples.
The bell tower steps are broken and burning so you quickly return to gather your weaponry from where it is scattered at the base of the tower. You cannot control the fire so leave it to burn out, which eventually it does. The bell tower is now nothing but a shell, with no way of climbing it.
You have plenty of food. The tracking device is clear, nobody else comes your way.
Another causalty to add to my list! Up til this point, I was in a winning position. However, I now blundered, which caused the effects of my second blunder to really ruin my chances.
Turn 10 Orders:
I will tie CA's tripwire to a pin of a grenade. and tie it near the bottom of the main church entrance.
I will then gather my weaponry and evacute to the well and examine GH's device.
Ignoramus.
Evacuting the church was stupid. I had a commanding position of the western half of the island, and the forbidden zones were herding people towards the island's centre.
Setting up the tripwire is tricky. There's nothing you can really attach it to by the door, but your high survival skill reflects a resourceful mind. By the entrance to the now blasted side chapel there is a smashed statue of St Sebastian. Amongst the broken stone and shotgun pellets you find his head and place it on one side of the door. You then take two pieces of fallen masonry from the tower and place it on the other side. Wedging a grenade between the two blocks of stone, you tie the tripwire to the pin, and wrap it around the statues head on the other side. It's not perfect, but if someone trips, it seems likely the grenade will blow.
You're a little bruised from your fall and your palms have rope burn, but otherwise you feel good as you gather up your arsenal and leave the church and the corpses of CountArach, KillFrenzy and DutchGuy behind.
There is a track that leads westwards from the church. The tracking device was clear when you left, so you don't fear ambush, strolling almost arrogantly, shotgun and rifle shouldered, grenades strapped to your chest, pistol and walkie talkies rammed in your belt.
Before long you are at the well. It appears to be a simple stone well with rope and bucket, positioned at a junction. The dirt road you approached on continues westwards, and a smaller track heads south. There is no one to be seen, though there are some tracks in the now mostly dried mud from the rainstorm. You re-examine the device. The map on the tracking device has moved with you, keeping the red dot that indicates your location cantered. The coast appears on the edge of the map, and with it a very faint signal, seeming to come from the harbour, but there is no signal in your immediate vicinity.
To the east, you hear three shots. There's nothing that way on your scanner...
Suddenly the walkie talkies you took from General Handkerchief begin to crackle, and somewhere in the static a voice can just be made out. The crackling resolves into a more clearly defined voice.
"...*static*.., alling, anybody hear me? ...*static*... Is there anyone out the ...*static*..."
You grab the walkie talkie, hold it to your mouth, holding down the switch.
"This is Ignoramus here, I hear you. Identify yourself"
"...*static*... Ignoramus! ...*static*... this is Orb speaking"
You may PM Orb and talk to him between this round and the next.
I tried to get Orb near me on a fabricated story of a mortar, but as it was this late in the game, it was pointless.
Turn 11 Orders:
Hello Myrdraal,
Sorry for the massive delay.
I will attempt to find out the frequency of the radio, as Orb requested, while sheltering near the well. I will examine GH's device at the end of the turn to see whether my opponents are close.
Ignoramus.
I hadn't been as active during this turn.
What could Orb possibly mean: "the frequency of the radio to deactivate my collar". You have two walkie talkies, but how can they possibly deactivate a collar?
Still, you fiddle with the walkie talkies for a while and find that they have various channels with a wide range of frequencies. This won't help Orb one bit, your walkie talkies are not linked to the collars in any way.
You give up, and take a look at the Tracking Device. The dot to the west is moving around in the harbour area, but not leaving it.
You wait by the well, you hear nothing, and nobody comes you way.
You may continue to talk to Orb by PM
After this, I made my second blunder - I forgot to send my orders in. This caused me to get sunstroke.
You sit down on a mount of earth by the well, to examine the walkie talkies, unaware that you're sitting on an anthill.
As you sit in the sun staring at you walkie talkie blindly, the sun begins to burn the top of your scalp. However, you don't seek shade, just continue to stare blankly. The time passes, and you're in danger of getting sunstroke but you barely move a muscle, stirring only to scratch your behind which is in the process of being colonised by ants.
Needless to say, it put me in a bad situation. But my dumbest action was motivated by storytelling, not wisdom.
Turn 13 orders:
To relieve my sunstroke, I will take a long drink from the well.
I shall retreat to the church, being careful not to go through the main entrance, which is mined with a grenade.
I shall examine GH's device once inside.
Ignoramus.
This was pure lunacy! Of course the well would be poisoned this late in the game. Sadly, I got overconfident.
Finally you come to you senses and move into the shade for a while. Removing the ants which have colonised your trousers is a laborious task, involving hopping around on one leg, with both hands scratching in your pants. How humiliating...
The well has a long rope and bucket hanging over a simple wooden ring surrounding the deep shaft. You take a long deep drink of the water in the bucket. The water tastes stagnant and foul, but you gulp it down, you intend to clear this sunstroke. You empty the bucket and spit to try and clear the after taste.
All too aware that this area will soon become a forbidden zone, you gather up your hefty equipment. It seems heavier than usual. Indeed as you try to lift your rucksack you stagger, only just keeping your balance. Your stomach gives a dangerous rumble, and a wave of nausea hits you. You stumble, somehow keeping to your feet, and lean on the edge of the well for support.
You feel incredibly faint, perhaps a rest would help, you are after all, very, very tired. No! What's happening to you? Your reflection stares back guiltily at you from the bottom of the well. Poison! The well has been poisoned. You imagine laughter behind you, but as you reach for a weapon, you see only a bare Mulberry bush. Somehow, it looks smug...
You're imagining things! As you realise the danger of your situation, your stomach lets out a fearful spluttering, and you feel warm liquid running down your legs. You are loosing your bodily functions and your brain seems full of cotton wool, but part of it is working furiously.
One hand holding you steady you stick your other hand in your mouth, fingers reaching to the back of your throat, hoping to provoke regurgitation. Soon you are emptying the contents of your stomach onto the anthill that abused you earlier. Any ants still in your trousers are having a hard time too as the symptoms of diarrhoea enter into full force.
You feel exhausted, but shear willpower keeps you awake and thinking, you cannot succumb to the poison. This area will soon be a forbidden zone. The poison might kill you, but if it doesn't, lingering here will. However, your strength is almost fully gone; you have no chance of reaching the church, and even less of a chance considering the equipment you're carrying. Wiping the sweat appearing on your brow, you glance at the map. The fastest way out of this zone is to head south, down the track that leads to the orchard. Gathering the last of your strength, you begin southwards, but you have only made it 30 meters from the well when you collapse, drained. Lying in the dust, you close your eyes for a few brief seconds. The hard ground beneath you feels like the softest feather mattress, sleep begins to wash over you.
But your willpower has not left you yet, you must get out of this zone, or death is certain. You decide to abandon some of your equipment; you no longer have the strength to carry it all. You discard your rifle with the improvised bayonet, throw down the shotgun and cast off most of your grenades, the clumsy sword and some of your food. This leaves you with your machine pistol, 6 grenades, the sniper rifle, the tracking device and some meagre rations.
With your lightened load, you set off again. Staggering and swaying, it takes all your concentration to put one foot in front of the other. An eternity passes, and waves of fatigue wash over you. You collapse and fall yet again. Peering through half shut eyelids you check your tracking device; the red dot that represents yourself is close to the edge of the zone. Only a few more meters, almost there.
With one final Herculean effort, you cross the boundary, out of the danger zone. You loose your balance, and the rocky ground comes up to great you warmly as you plunge downwards. Finally, you pass out, filthy from your own excrement.
You are on the boundary between D4 and E4. You have been poisoned with laxatives and sleeping pills, and have passed out. You may not move or give orders until further notice. You may not communicate with Orb.
Your remaining equipment is:
Machine pistol
Sniper Rifle
Tracking device
Grenades (6)
A very small amount of food and water.
I had a very narrow escape from certain death. But now I was most vulnerable, being unconscious for an entire turn.
Fortunately, I remained undiscovered.
Next turn you will regain your consicousness. However, you will be weak. You cannot move more than one square, and your abilities are severly reduced for the next round.
You may send orders.
And finally, as you know this happened:
Great game guys. Congratulations to TinCow!

Yes I will be doing another game. I've thought of a few things to make it different and new whilst still keeping all the elements of this game. If you've got more idea's I'd be more than happy to hear them, catch me in the chatroom (if you can) or send me a PM.
It seems (reading other people's PMs) that Pever had intended the car to be in Mansion driveway. However when I took over the game I straight away decided a location for the car (and other special objects). You didn't go in either place I'm afraid.
That's an idea, I'll think about this game and maybe if I have time a new map over the next week, then I'll go about starting the next game. I've thought of one new role. Any special role, special object, special place or special weapon ideas anyone has please PM me
I would try to avoid any pre-set 'teams' like I had. If people want to arrange them after meeting up in-game, that's great, but setting them up at the start (1) seems unfair - I had 2 allies with excellent stats right from the start - and (2) introduces problems if people stop responding to PMs. If starting teams are required, perhaps limit them to 2 for ease of communication.

Yah some people were ruining the game by sending illegal pms to each other forming alliances.
