View Full Version : A removal of my junior member status...

I don't believe i've broken any forum rules for over 6 months, i only got this junior member in the first place because of a mod having a bad day decided to pick on my signature for being 'offensive', something about a family guy quote in my signature had the word 'sex' in it, maybe he was a Catholic or something, i dunno, but other people in the forum had profanity in their signatures and he didn't seem to do anything about theirs.

Anyway, like i said, this was before christmas, around october-november, and i have been a good little general since then and i think i deserve to have it removed, i get tired of having to wait over a thousand seconds before being able to post again...

Thankyou in advance.

Hm, what about a Sig with a clear nazi message in it? Not realy good little general material ... :undecided:

Well... I understand jokes and stuff don't always show on the internet... A signature is often abbreviated to sig... Signature = Sig... I thought it was rather funny putting heil at the end of it... But if it'll help my case, i'm no nazi, and i'll change it.

Oh and just to add to that, sig heil roughly translates to HOORAH! in German... So i would hardly call it a clear nazi message...

Very roughly. Literally it's "hail to victory!".

Literally it's "hail to victory!".

And it undoubtedly does have strong Nazi connotations.

As a German I can inform you that "Sieg heil" is only ever used by Nazis in a Nazi context. There's no other use for this expression, neither in sports or anywhere else. The literal translation doesn't really matter, what's more important is the connotation this expression has.....So I would hardly call it anything else than a clear nazi message.

Ok guys we have tons of members from other countries who use this forum. I doubt that most of them will care if some one put Sig Heil at the end of their message. If this is a U.S.A. based community then undoubtedly we Americans know about the free speech amendment. People may not agree with it, but as long as there are no racially aggressive terms and/or it says he wants to kill all non white/Christian people then let him have it. I just think being demoted for saying "SeigHeil" is about as dumb as saying "Get R' Done"(America's new air force motto)

Any ways if i was in a country that hated America i still wouldn't take great offense to that he just may have sick humor... because we all know we he does... just kidding... any ways it's a dumb reason and just because some crazy dictator ruined the world during the forties doesnt mean you can take out your anger on this poor guy about his stupid joke so guys please think before you act

Nobody has been demoted for having "Sieg Heil" in the sig.

That said, just putting Sieg Heil in your sig would not be acceptable here. While we have a lot of patrons from the US, this is not a US based community, and even if it was, one of our main goals is to maintain a friendly atmosphere on this board and to achieve this we do not necessarily feel bound to the free speech amendment.

"Sieg Heil!" has the same level as "Heil Hitler!", although it has literally a different meaning.
What I mean is, that the people in Nazi-Germany sometimes could decide if they want to greet Hitler with "Heil Hitler!", "Heil!" or "Sieg Heil!"

Today, all of those expressions are only used by Neo-Nazis, and no one else.
