Campaign Landscape pink/violet

How can i change the landscape to normal? Looks like pink coloured, in northern regions when its winter its ok, in summer the land is pink also in southern regions. Can i solve this problem by changing or putting a file in?

You're missing ground textures, probably just eb specific ones, best way to resolve it is to reinstall. Should be savegame compatible.

It could be that the installer you've got is corrupted, as far as the ground textures go. A re-download could be in order. As for the hardware, yours should be more than capable, but it still might be a driver problem.

My money's on the corrupt installer card, though. Wouldn't be the first time, even though this time the game doesn't crash.

I had this before, in the very first build of the 0.8 internal. It was a corrupt file I believe. Something in eb/data/world/maps/base/ I believe. I don't think we have anything from back then on the ftp, so I can't check what the problem was, but it was definately something wrong with a file and not a driver problem.

Definitly looks like missing textures, I've changed the files I have so I cant tell you which ones are missing other than beach.tga. Look in data/terrain/aerial_map/ground_types/ and eb/data/terrain/aerial_map/ground_types/ for it, if its in one and not the other copy the contents over, if its in neither you need to reinstall the stock game, if its in both somethings really wrong. The pink texture seems to be the games way of drawing the designers attention to a problem spot, I've seen it used where theres a texture missing and where theres a mismatch in the map_ground_types, seeing as some textures are showing properly I'm guessing its not the latter.

Ok so far i tryed to copy the files from data...ground_types to EB data...ground_types like you said - still same problem. I did a fresh install of RTW did update and install EB - still same problem.

I also tryed to copy the full aerial_map folder to eb ones, b/c in rtw the ground is like it has to be.

It also puts in same tga`s, i also tryed all this with a fresh download again and still the same.

I shot the screens of data...ground_types and eb data...ground_types, maybe this will make it easier for you and can perhaps see what is missing.

Did you try redownloading EB? It may have been a corrupt download, which would effect it everytime you installed from that exe.

I got purple crap like that on Genewars once. Stayed there until I reinstalled Windows. Weird thing.

I won`t do that, considering that vanilla works fine and other mods too.
I tryed rise of persia, NTW and many many other, though I like EB most.
Wondering that I am the only one with this problem...

You're definitly missing textures, theres no beach.tga there. Reinstall rome then eb.

edit sorry, you already did that, if the files arent getting installed theres something wrong with your disc

I had this once with Total Realism I think. A complete reinstall solved the problem. Don't know why it doesn't work for you.

EB doesn't install a beach.tga.

There are 15 tgas in my eb/data/.../ground_types/ exactly the same as you.

There are 48 tgas in my data/.../ground_types/ there are only 31 in yours. That is where your problem is.

It looks like there is a problem with your Rome install. Did you patch up to 1.5?

Still same.


@Foot: Yes I did update and on a new install i get there 31 files incl. eb ones
I got the 3 CD version (german) maybe thats the problem.

That disc thing didn`t let me calm...

What I did:
I grabbed out an old 10GB IDE HD
Installed RTW+EB on it
Looked in ground_types - 46 files found (beach.tga incl)
