it boggles my mind that a company could last this long. this company was older than islam for instance.

It is a little sad that they finally closed down, but then I doubt any other single business on the planet can claim to have lasted as long. Gotta give 'em credit where credit's due! :yes:

Be pretty difficult to best that record, certainly. Not that there weren't some seriously old firms still around though. Take Beretta (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beretta) for one. And while it's not a "business" per ce, the custodianship of the keys to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_the_Holy_Sepulchre#Status_quo) has run in two local Muslim families since Saladin's recapture of the city in 1192...

I had some beer from what was supposedly the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world (since 1040 apparently) the other day. It was quite nice.
