My Suggestions

Please take some notice of these, I think they could improve this forum greatly, or at least give reason why they may not be good if that is the case:

1. Allow custom Avatars
2. Have slightly larger sig file size max, people can save as GIF images, so pictures can be used without taking up bandwidth etc.
3. Get rid of the "You may only post every 256 seconds" rubbish, why, because if you type in the quick reply and press enter, you get that message, and lose what you wrote, which is annoying.

Hello Colossus,

1. Avatars are a discussion point for years. In short: people wanted uniformity, so there are system avatars to make that.
About four years ago, a second avatar system was added (URL avatars). Due to server problems, the software used for the forum had to be changed and the URL avatars no longer worked.

Over a year ago the URL avatar system was reintroduced, the feedback was that it still had to be themed (unlike the 100% freedom in the old system), just like the system avatars. They have to be 96*142 pixels and max 10 kb, though there are a few larger filesizes. The theme has to be TW and/or mod related, one wants to see a person or something representing that (statues, white armour). One can add avatars, but they have to be reviewed first => that's a consequence of wanting a theme (drop me a note please if you uploaded something). It's also possible to have a personal URL avatar, PM me to set it up.

2. This is also discussed. Signatures are limited in size as users wanted to see them, but didn't want to wade through long signatures while reading topics. The size of pictures is also limited to 10k to speed up browsing for smallband users (there still are).
It is possible to add a bigger picture in the extended signature.

All these things can be found in your UserCP. Each can be enabled or disabled just as each individual user wishes.

3. I'm sorry about that, but you won't see that anymore since you are member now. Flood is only 20 seconds.

The domain is registered April 10th 1999. I am not sure whether there was an org forum before that. Dan was the founder.

You won't see too much of the old forums though. Wayback seems to grab content from this site or didn't cache, content which is lost due to server and software changes. Broadband was rare those days and there was no backing up.

I belive Kurando took over shortly after Dan and then Tere then a short time after Tosa came in however there was some one in between that who slips from my mind. I beleive Tosa is the longest running Admin here though as far as I'm aware.
