How much of your life have you spent playing games do you reckon?

Me and a friend used our xfire profiles to find out that i've spent about 23 days playing on the computer. It doesn't even take into account all the times i've had xfire turned off. That's about 15% of a year. Makes you appreciate how much of your time you spend having 'fun', screaming at idiots in other countries for messing up.

I probably "only" play around 10-15 hours a week now, depending on the circumstances....and that's actually way down compared to how much I used to play. I started playing PC games in a major way about eight years ago, and that first year I was probably playing close to 40 hours a week. I was still playing around 25-30 hours a week for a good while after that; but then for whatever reason(s), my playing time decreased significantly about 2 years ago.

I've managed to limit my usage to weekends. So nowhere near as much as I used to. On Fridays maybe 1-2 hours, Saturdays 1-2 hours and Sundays 2-3 hours. Which considering my work schedule is too much. I find I spend way too much time here than playing games.

Dang it. That was going to be my answer. Then it was going to be a quote and 'seconded.' Now I guess it's more of a 'ninthed'? . . . 'tenthed'? I think my longest single stint was probably about 16 hours straight. Fortunately that kind of thing is rare for me these days.

A lot. I don't play that much anymore, though sometimes there might come up a sudden impulse to start playing a lot, though it's rare. Pff, heck, I bet there are many who grew up with video games in their childhood, and see playing games as a normal standard thing to do, just like eating and drinking are normal.

Step away from the computer, slowly now.

Take a deep breath.

And consider whether you'd like to do well at school/uni/anything but procrastination.

I don't want to cause offense, but I've seen how people who play games too much turn out, and it's not a good idea ~;)

You're looking at 30% of your life there - more, if you discount the time when you're asleep...
