Twice now since installing the official 1.2 patch Ive had a General (in totally different campaigns) killed off with the only explanation being that it was an act of God.
Im not necessarily against the inclusion of this since shit happens but... I loved those Generals and they were essential to my progress :sweatdrop:
Anyone one else had this new thing and what are your thoughts on it?

Was in 1.1 already and in 1.0 as well. Supposedly this happens during disasters but there was no disaster in those regions when I checked.
I think there were reports of an odd bug that would trigger randomly and do checks on who survives. That's why you sometimes get ForcedReligious or Superstitious traits if the char survives. For me it mainly kills some random priest.

Weird, since I never got it at all in 200 hours of play but twice in succesive campaigns after installing 1.2. There was definately no disasters in those areas either.

I lost 4 generals in a coordinated scottish assasination spree in one (!!!!) turn. Sending spies showed 13 buggers there. And those were my allies through marriage... Other than that earthquakes, storms, and ACT OF GOD ( i imagine a big hand poking out of the sky finger outstretched towards my general and a little flag rolling out with "PWND" on it) have taken their toll.

I lost an entire Crusade to an Act of God in 1.1, so this is nothing new. :furious3: On the other hand, I got credit for taking part in the crusade even though the Pope took Jerusalem himself.:balloon2:

I think Plague is counted under Act of God too in the game...

I just lost a general without any mention of him dying. The reason I noticed was that he was in a crusade and I got a warning that his men would desert if they weren't led by a crusading general.
