Greetings,

I'm looking to start a EU3 game running one session once a week. First, before I start planning and writing rules, I would like to inquire if this has any interest among the noble dwellers here.

What I would like you to do, is simply post if you are interested and any day which you absolutely cannot make it for.

The options are, for my part, either a week day after 1900 CET or in the weekend around 12 CET. Fridays are a no go, since people tend to party and fool around.

Ideally we would be around 5-8 serious gamers, fewer will do I suppose but I think less than 4 is too few.

I'm thinking we should do it tuesdays or sundays, what do you think?

----------

Countries:

England: open
France: Sinan
Castille: Sjakihata
Austria: open
Burgundy: open
Aragon: open
Portugal: open

Rules:

Each session will take place every thursday at 1900 CET (gmt +1). We will wait maximum 15 mins, so make sure to show up. If you are late, let me know, via this thread, in advance, so I can do a rehost at the time you will be available. Also, if you can't make it, try to find a sub or the AI will play for you.

Game speed will be at 4 during peace time and 3 during war. If everyone agrees for a speed setting then that will be in place.

Treaties and alliance can be forged across nations with no regard to history. If you make a treaty or agreement with someone, you should aim to keep it.

Generally, play like a gentleman be fair and a little bit naughty. Be aware that this is a free for all game, and that you should try to do anything in your power to outcompete your opponent, with regards to the values of true sportsmanship. That means no exploit or semi exploit, NO FREE MINTING and try generally to extend a warning before a DoW, of course if your primary enemy is the target then disregard it, but if you havent DoW'ed someone before, please warn the person that he is interfering with your sphere of influence.

Any ideas for more rules?

Regards,
Sjakihata

Hi Sjak, Nice to hear from you.

How many hours per session ?

Nothing is set yet, I'd like some input from those who are going to participate, however, Im thinking somewhere between 4-6, depending on the mood of the session we can go on longer if everyone agrees to proceed over the set time.

What are the major differences between EU3 and EU2? In EU2 I found the micromanaging of colonies immensely tiresome, turning an otherwise great game quite annoying. Has this changed with EU3? I might also give EU2 another shot soon.

All right, I've updated the main post. Please request a country. Also I talked to jango and I think he will get the game and check it out.

btw, first session is still undecided, aiming for next thursday if I get comfirmation from jango and gawain.

I actually like playing France because it gives me some security as I totally suck at this game. So if no one has objections I'll take it.

My second choice would be England, 3rd choice Austria.

I'd suggest adding Portugal and Aragon as the Castille player will have no early human opposition.

Come on people sign up for a country. When everyone has a country we should find a start date.

You might want to fire EU3 up and see if it'll even work on multiplayer, just a warning. Me and Disco tried to play a Vicky game yesterday and it crashed on us. Paradox multi games always seem to be a hassle.

Thanks for the warning. We've already achieved a successful test on Hamachi. I'd recommend Hamachi for Vicky, might work for that game too.

I'd love to join in, but a lack of home internet is something of a barrier. :embarassed: I doubt the game'll still be going by the time it's all fixed, but if it is, do you think there'll be room for a late-comer?
