Hi All,

In my first campaign after patching to 1.2, I'm paying Eng on H/H.

Patch 1.2 works great, but one thing I noticed is that the pope has not called any crusades and I'm 80 turns in now. I know I can request a crusade, but before 1.2 the pope himself would call one by 10-20 turns usually.

anyone else notice this? anyone know what factors trigger the pope to call a crusade user than player request?

thanks

Interesting, indeed. I, too, am playing my first 1.2 campaign as the English. I am approximately 120 turns into the game and I have already had at least 3 (maybe more) crusades called.

On a side note, I have not "heeded the call" in any of them, am excommunicated, and am running rampant over all the neighbouring catholic factions, including the French, Milanese, Danes and Spanish!

I had the pope call one on Jerusalem which failed because no one joined, then a very long period of nothing, then a 30-year-old pope called one on Antioch which has been going on forever because the Mongols hold it with four full stacks, and I forgot to change the timescale from default so the pope isn't going to die for a long time.

there certainly seems to be less AI-called crusades than before. it didn't call any even when there was no active crusade and HRE/Milan were excommed.
