Well, honestly I had bad feelings about buying weapons and armor upgrades even before they made it a reality.
Matt
Honor: this will make the unit become blood lust. They fight until the last men. They will not run away. However, should not have BIG effect on defensive and offensive ability. Should add some but not much.
Armor and weapon upgrade should be much more expensive. In real life, you can not get the upgrade unless you discover the way how to make it better or you learn the skill from other nation.
Experience: not seen in STW yet. It is tied to honor I guess. However, experience should be a seperate attribute. More experience means better defensive and offensive skill while honor only make the soldier royal and stick with their leader. Soldiers of a unit will gain some experience after each battle (no matter win or lose, winning may gain more point than losing). Let say a unit has 5 points of experience (means each soldier has 5 points) after a battle. The unit lost 20 men in the battle and has 40 men left. If the number of men does not increase (stay at 40), all soldiers will remain with 5 points experience. However, if you recuit 20 more men and mix in to make a 60 men unit again, the experience point will drop. New recuit has no experience point. The experience point will be total experience points divided by number of men. Total points is 5 x 40 = 200. New experience point is 200 / 60 = 3.3 points. This number will be the factor of which they will fight better than the zero experience unit.

In shogun, honor/experience is calculated on everyone basis. I don't think they would change the way it works in MTW. Thus your calculation is kind of flawed.

Gothmog,
Each man has its own dynamic honor stat in STW and WE/MI, and could have its own experience stat. I'll be shocked if MTW retains the same limited system that STW and WE/MI use for unit upgrades. The existing system is not only very simple, but the few upgradeable parameters there are get linked together in the honor upgrade.

Gothmog,
I always wish that I could be better in calculating.
Anyway, I don't really understand the honor stat in STW. By reading some of the posts in this forum, I only know that honor add some att and def bonus. As you and Puzz3D said that honor stat is calculated for each soldiers, will sometime in the game (if I look very carefully) I can see some men fight better than some other men in the same unit? Or it only decides how much damage each cause and how damage each can take? It seems to be too much calculation for me. How important the stat will be for multi-game and campaign (for each dificulty level)? I don't seem to notice any difference in easy and normal level. Will a very high honor/experieced ND become a Kensai sometime?
Also, honor could mean experience. If a unit had won so many battles, its honor is high. If it has done that so many battles, then it is experience, isn't it?

One thing any prospect beta tester must have is integrity...
Being susceptible to bribes (Kraellin) or quick to offer them (Tootee) isn't the true mark of a man of honor :-)
pdoan8,
Open a Shogun logfile with notepad. You have to have the "create logfile" option enabled for them to be generated. The honor level of every man as he left the battle is listed there. It's based on how many kills he got. There are no hit points. Each man is either alive or dead. In the game, you move units around, but the combat is between individual men. For and online game, each man within a unit starts with whatever honor the unit was purchased at. As the men fight, their honor can change, and you can observe some men fighting better than others when this happens.

Tera it seems can only be of use when he is in a good mood, like for instance when he has something he wishes to flaunt and for you to ask about.
EG. Earlier this week Tera in MSN convo announces that he is recieving picture of hot girl. (how he knows she is hot without picture is beyond me. Plus if he had met her why the need for a picture to see what she looks like.) I naturally ask him about her and he is in happy mood.
