Those screen shots look awesome...the best I have seen yet. Is it me or do the graphics appear to be much better than STW? The sprites appear to be much more well defined than in STW. Damn, I cant wait for this game to come out..I'm sure its going to be hoooooj!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

The sprites do look much better than in STW, the maps look good also.
Thanks for the link. I will put it on the front page of the site.

well just a thought neway. like in shogun we can use 8 bit texture and get abit ugly sprite, while,
if we dont use 8 bit texture, we got better sprites. is MTW going to work exactly like STW?

Well one of the screen shots shows a grey shield (armour upgrade) on the troops.
It also looks like there is room for 16 units in the army. With 40 to 60 men in each unit.
So the more then 10k troops on a field looks like it is of the 120 (men in a unit)* 16 (units) * 8 (in online MP) = 15360 troops variety.
Of course the beautiful screenies maybe misleading http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif but I think it would be a safe bet at this stage that we will see 16 units side 60 to 120 men per unit.
Having said that. This game looks fantastic http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif And I will be buying it with no regrets even if it was just samurai in beautifully sprited platemail http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Well I only see the boat symbol on the strategy map, which is not a big deal, since we have seen shipyard symbols in MI/WE too.
So far, I haven't seen any NAVY COMBAT screenshots yet.

I do like the unit icons on the map though. They are awesome.
check out the 1st screen shot, there are some mace-shield weilding units with 6 men each.

Somekind of super-unit? Similar to kensai and Ninja in MI/WE?????
Humm, on another screen shot, I see a small unit of men operating on the catapults.
Gee, the anticipation is killing me.

GOTHMOG i obviously don't actually know but i'm pretty sure the mace covers the 0 of the 60. this isn't a special unit just one with a big weapon.
On the topic of ships: that ship is a big fleet no doubt. it has already been confirmed that no real time navy combat will feature. it will be auto resolved.
