View Full Version : RTW on speed
Hello there, I am new here and have a question about Rome Total War.
My problem is that I upgraded with a dual core processor and a 7950 nvidia card, and since RTW has been unplayable, with the battles and just about everything else going high on coffee.
I guess someone else must have had the same problem but its a jungle out there and I cant find the way.
Is there a solution to this? pleace help.
:help:
Hi
please elaborate on what you mean by - unplayable because its high on coffee
do you mean the units move fast - because that was a big criticism of RTW because the units moved and fought too fast (compared to MTW) so the battles were over real quick
you might try some of the MODs for RTW - I know EB slows the battles down a bit
if this is what you mean??

Several games have had timing issues with dual core processors - i seem to recall sword of the stars had similar issues:

Its an OS/CPU driver issue afaik, it affects some games on some CPUs. Try disabling one of your cores and see if that works, and check for driver updates.
Oh hi there.
I have noticed that the movment of the units in RTW is little faster and tighter than in MTW, but the game was fine on my previous system.
But when M2TW came out I uppgraded with a AMD dual core, 64 bit, processor and it changed.
At first I was busy with M2TW and IL2, and didnt notice anything, but when I went back to RTW it was cracy. Even the background animation in the menu was racing along.
So I guess its the Dual core then, oh my this is going to hurt.
Thanks for the reply.

I believe if you update your AMD Dual Core Drivers it'll often fix the problem with certain Games: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html
