Right now my M2TW is vanilla. I want to patch it up to 1.2, so can I install 1.2 directly over vanilla or do I need to patch to 1.1 then 1.2.

A million posts on this, but probably a week old by now. Patch 1.2 straight over vanilla game. Do not use 1.1, it can cause problems.
