Sorry in advance for asking this here, but I don't know where to go...Does any one know how (teach) to make 1 unit containing 1 MAN (I know the minimum is 8) ; ......but I'm after the fight of the century....I have the texture and everything: but this scripting is far beyond my ability...
1) making a general
2 )Editing the unit and make the other units transparent (???)
3) Scripting so that they all die minus the general once on the field (??????)

I thought min was 6, not 8...
1) I think not even a general can be alone on the field, you must have a unit assigned to him.
2) The best option, but only visually. The invisible men will still be there, killing, being killed etc...
3) Can this be done???

Moved from the Scriptorium - would everyone please note not to post questions as new threads in the Scriptorium :2thumbsup:
Agreeing totally with Aradan's answer; including not knowing if 3) could be done. I think you can only run a battle script for a historic battle anyway...

Yes, it can be done, but by manually activating the script and there must be conditions applied to the unit to be "culled". It's too much of a pain in the ass, IMO, and a single man unit is not effective at anything much in RTW while taking up one slot in your army. Unless you make that unit uber deadly.

My idea is to make a video of Achillies vs Hektor, Zhuge Liang has made splendid Textures , just like in the Movie.
Actually, Achillies really look like Brad Pitt;
If anyone can help doing the script I have made the export_descr_unit and the descr_battle_unit but the the units made are 10 soldiers, (it works well)
I can send the tga + cas + unit #tga for both hektor and achillies ..
Is it possible to create/resscale a skeleton to scale 0.00001 (ok perhaps not *that* small)? So that you give the rest of the men this skeleton (apart from making them invisible). Being so small they will cover very small distances and it will be like the general is alone on the field, plus they will become virtually useless in combat. It's the closest thing I can think of to having a lone general, besides the script thing. Which btw must be a REAL pain if Wlesmana says so...

It would be only for a single fight between Hector and Achillies, I can figure it out With the Battle Editor in front of the walls of Troy..I can make that..

If it's just for that, then just do a unit of Achilles and Hector and set them up as scripted battle/historical battle. You can have 1 man units there.

Bad idea. With a skeleton that small, the rest of the unit, except the general, would fall behind. When your units attacking a unit with its soldiers scattered, they act crazy and weird things happen. You might end up seeing your units going to the "middle", which is the area between the one general and the tiny invisible soldiers and got confused there. They always go after the "center" of a unit and not individual soldiers, until they engaged in combat.
That was the ponit, the rest of the unit being left behind. I just didn't know if the "go for the unit-mass-center" thingy happens *every* time or it's an occassional bug... I believed that once the enemies collided with the general, then they would fight him and ignore the rest of the unit's men until they got really close (which would take a looong time). But since it's an every-single-time thing, then yeah, very bad idea indeed...
Thx for the clarification. :)

No; that is not possible as well in the battle Editor; the minimum I found is 5
So that would give 5 Achillies vs 5 Hector....I can send the texture (tga+cas) if you want to try ...the texture are just like in the movie; Zhuge Liang must have taken a photo the 2 actors and put them in the game ; I don't remember the actor's name that plays Hector, but Obviously it's Brad Pitt reduce as a little unit Achillies :laugh4:

It appears to be possible to have 1 man units: https://img168.imageshack.us/img168/9505/1unittestzz4.th.jpg (https://img168.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1unittestzz4.jpg)
This had always bugged me why the unit is hard-coded to be a minimum of 6 when clearly in the editor you could set it to one.

thanks for your interest
True ; on the Battle Editor when you put troops on the fields; as you choose 1 soldier in 1 unit; you see that in reality the game put 5 or 6 instead in the battle you create; :help:
So What can I do ?

That's looking good. So how did you do it finally?

It's just a try :idea2: ; I didn't really succeed :embarassed:
What did (because I REALLY want to make a video of these 2 units fighting) is going to the export_descr_unit of each and change this line :
formation 2, 2, 20, 20, 8, square
so when you put them to loose they are very far away from each other; then you can see the one/one fight ZOOMing..:inquisitive:
Anyone who has a better idea ; please tell me
