*bows*

Glad to recognize alot of faces still here. I've been flying in World War II online for awhile, mainly because of the support by the developers. New toys every few months keeps the game growing. And Squad support is very good there.

I was wondering if any have heard rumors etc pertaining to Support for Clans in the Medieval edition. Possiblity a emblem upload that would show next to the players name, and the ability to see a profile in the lobby would be nice.

Will host have more options like:
*Ability to boot players
*Light Launch GUI system so we can put messages up about the game to be launched and what we expect _huge chat like box

If you look at the way Totalwar was set up I dont believe Multiplay was pushed very much. I practicaly stumbled by accident onto the registration page.

Will Multiplayers concerns be focused on MORE? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif

hey priest,

i played the open beta of that game. fun stuff! every once in a while i get an email with some deal to get me back, but so far, they havent tempted me enough :) still, that's one massive concept they've got going.

as for M:TW, the data coming out is pretty sparse so far. we've heard nothing about the multiplayer interface so far that i know of. we dont even know who's hosting it, though i suspect it will be on Activision servers.

WWII online had massive monetary backing during development. it's also a dedicated multiplayer game. there is no single player side to it, except that lame little 'trainer' thing that essentially allows you to get familiar with the key commands. the total war series went the other route, single player first, multi second. i doubt they had any 'big backers' and are still a relatively small company, CA that is. i dunno about dreamtime and i doubt EA was pumping money into the development.

thus, i would expect that single player is going to again be the side that gets stressed. and though we multi folks are prolly the more vocal, it's the old bean counting that's going to determine what gets stressed or not.

it could be interesting if shogun were a dedicated pay game in the manner in which wwii online is. ALL of japan could be modeled on one continuous map and you could walk your 16 units from one end of japan to the other. could be real interesting. or even better might be if you had whole armies you could assign to players and it used a ranking system similar to wwii online and orders. it stirs the imagination.

but for now, the bottom line is that we just havent heard much about multi yet.

and on a side note, while i was playing wwii online, i was on the allied team one day, and there was a city we were defending. i forget which one it was, but the axis side had decided it had to fall and we'd decided it had to be held. i played in that one city for about 4 hours and finally had to log off. when i came back the next day at about the same time, the battle for that city was still going on! i was amazed! now THAT'S a game! :)

i'm just too lazy to play stuff like WWII ONline but what Krae said at the end sounds amazing that's exactly what i would want fromn a persistent online universe
