View Full Version : What Quality???
fresh from my trip to the 2 cent emporium of fine products i am sitting here reviewing my latest purchse,
a pack of 5 High Quality Single DVD cases
and i have been thinking (a dangerous past-time)
How come everything is high quality, superb quality, exceptional quality, export quality??
Where,, where i ask you, where are the Low quality, Bad quality, C### quality, and the "haha i cant believe you bought this" quality products???
heck, i'd even settle for Average quality,
but no - it's all High quality... or better,
so...
is High the new Low????
Because peoples is stoopid. :dunce:
The one I like is "New look - same great taste."
So you're charging me more to eat the stuff in the box because you added more colour to the box, which I'll throw away, but you didn't improve the food, which I'm going to eat?

What colour are we talking about? If it's purple it's all worth it.

When products get a new package it usually means there is less in it

Oh..Aaah...Questioning the mechanics of modern day marketing techniques would end up in an unnecessary insanity.
Well, Coca Cola tells me that the life is out there in the streets. Instead of a "ZTF ?!!", I prefer drinking it to the bottom...at home.

Actually I have indeed the (subjective) impression that this is a new trend.
Years ago it was rather "now with 10% more" - nowadays it seems to be more difficult (at least here in Germany) to have customers accept price increases.
One of the nicest examples I have seen recently is the new packaging of Moevenpick ice cream (a premium ice cream). They managed to reduce the content by 10% while actually making the box look like it contains more than before - I bet they had some designers work really hard on that one... :whip:
is High the new Low????
...reduce the content by 10% while actually making the box look like it contains more... and apparently "Less is the new More"
so if High is the least you can get,
and Less is the most you can get,
does this mean we all get $### ???

Reminds me of my Axe deo.
I once bought a new one and noticed the package said "now 25% more" or sth like that, but I was cuious because it was exactly as big as the one I had before, when I compared them, they both had 250ml.:dizzy2: :inquisitive:

Oh behold the miracles of compression ~;)

a lot...
so much so that i dont wear it if all i am doing is going to work...
i thought the advertisements were exagerating...
(random girl in crowded bus/train starts following guy)
they weren't...
(and i'm not tall)-(not dark)-(and not THAT good looking)-(and i'm over 40 too)
(have been asked for phone number, dates, and...um... you get the idea...)
it happens so often i wear an "el cheapo" generic brand unless i am going partying...
I would say the Deo should come with a warning label on it,
but,
it already Does!!!

I'm pretty sure they're the same brand.
My girlfriend recently bought me Axe shower gel after she caught me using the orchid scented soap from the pink bottle since my old (brandless) bottle was all out.

Lynx as we call it here too is indeed the same product. Although have you not
progressed from the women following men to the inane and irritating "bowwuwa-
wow-wow!" additional kak?
i am sad to report that the bowowa-a-a ad's have finally made it to Oz...

I'm banned from using Axe, ms. Waki has a jealous streak a mile long.
When she brought up the subject I very nearly said "Its not the Axe Baby, its the Sexy Car." But I held my lip.

Yeah, advertisements are always devious though, by their very nature. Though it starts to get ridiculous when they outright LIE.
The Jetstream people who manage our internet ran a completely idiotic advertising campaign, the fact is that nobody likes them because we have rather shoddy and expensive internet, but their ads just were so stupid.
They said "Sign up to Jetstream and win a trip to the Moon"
Eventually the broadcasting standards people (or whoever it was) shut off the ad and made them pay a fine because it was blatantly false. I mean, what kind of idiot thinks "Ok right, sales are down, let's tell people that if they join with us we'll launch them into space!"

Almost as bad as the Dodo internet ads here - they offer free* ADSL 2+
*NB: Usage limit 50MB/month, after which the user will be charged more in twenty minutes use than they would on other plans for the whole month...yes, 50MB would take under 10 seconds to use up on that plan :wall:

Wow that sounds like our satellite internet plan but even more devious. With ours we get 425mb/day and after we use it up our internet is turned down from an okay broadband speed to about 7kb/s. Luckily they don't charge us extra for using it up, but it essentially means that we can surf websites faster than when we had dial-up, but we can't download nearly as much because we can't just leave the download on overnight or for a couple of days.
