Well I downloaded Distant guns, Nice game if I can figure out the controls and especially controlling the camera. Its nice you get the whole game free for a month or 30 boots. Very realistic.

I hope the "Improved User Interface" really means big improvements...

If it's anything like their website, I'm afraid it will be disappointing...

Like I said Im having trouble even following the action with the camera. The interface in Battlestations Midway is far superior as are the graphics. However Im sure its far more of an aracde game than this is.

I hate to judge a game on eye candy, but while the ships look pretty good in those screen shots, the ocean surface modeling looks really basic and dated.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the Silent Hunter series, but weather and waves aren't exactly inconsequential for a sea battle. Even for big ships like this. It affects things like platform stability/firing accuracy, (targeting), and tactical maneuvering for position. And it sure does help contribute to immersion in the simulation. If weather isn't much of a factor in this game, then I'm not sure I'd be interested... even though this is an era I'd enjoy playing.

Weather is a big factor in this game and yes the graphics do reflect the weather. The screen shots dont do the game justice. Dl it its free to try.

Okay, thanks for the info. If that's the case, then I'll try it when I get a little free time. I'm going to take a break from SH4 for a while because it's so bugged, and the status of any final patch is unclear. Might have to wait for the modders to band-aid that thing. So I need a new naval sim to "tide" me over (heh, heh).

Well the game is out now. Has anyone purchased it yet? If so do you have any opinions about it?
