What does it do exactly ?
It just seems to put the post you use it on top of your screen. Can it be used as a 'bookamrk' in threads ? If so, how ? I'd really like a bookmark-style feature so I can read to froggy's novel-in-progress, if this is it, then i'd really like to know how to use it.

I noticed that today. Good question doc.
Hello doc_bean,
Thank you for bringing up that bookmark issue.
This anchor serves to quickly copy the URL of one post (topic context) into another post.

Is there any way to turn it off?

Ah, I see it now. thx.
The bookmark thing would be nice for stories and mafia games, but I don't think it would be a universally used feature. Don't waste too much time on it.

Hi pevergreen,
Is there any way to turn it off?Sorry pevergreen, but there, most unfortunately, is no way of disabling the function other than changing to the PDA Skin (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=1549774&styleid=17). Sorry.

I'm finding it very useful for refreshing threads I've had open for a while, as it keeps my current position within the thread whilst loading the new posts below it, whereas F5 can be variable.

You could try creating a bookmark for the topic page in your browser and naming it "Post X" where the X is the number you have read up to. When you follow the bookmark you only need to scroll until you reach the post number specified in the bookmark name to continue where you left off. Delete and replace the bookmark after each reading session. It's a bit of a clumsy method but it should work.

That does sound like a plan !
Just like to point out this nice little extention I came across which might help the obsessive readers amongst us: dog ears (http://yellow5.us/firefox/dogears)
It'll mark your spot for you and you can jump back to it later ~;)
firefox only, of course :laugh4:
