In the Downing Centre Local Court, Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran fined the defendant $2975 for bringing banned hormones into Australia and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of $10,000.

The 60-year-old earlier pleaded guilty to importing 45 vials of human growth hormone and possessing four vials of testosterone.

So do you think he got off lightly for illegal drug importation?

No. Those are all athletic performance enhancers. Hardly the crack or smack.


EDIT:Beirut, it was 3k plus 10,000 in court fees. But being as they would be Auzzie $$ it wasn't really that much. :wink3:

Seriously it is a slap on the wrist... but the drugs are more therapeutic in nature then recreational/destructive.

Good the Aussies spare no celebrity tho'.

As long as Joe Smuggler gets the same treatment for the same amount of drugs, I'm OK with it.

Anyone know what the Burmese (Myanmar) penalties might be for importing illegal substances? The Aussies might have saved his life.
