it is fun to play as RTW,good system,just too boring for money earning player.
there is another Oda Nobunaga series similiar Shogun:Total War,i didn't play it,so only talk about Genghis Khan series...
This game is very similiar as the "Genghis Khan 4" from KOEI of Japan(japanese version and chinese version):

war system,
turn based,(Genghis Khan 4 got 6 turn a year)
a campaign map and battle map,(Genghis Khan 4 only have turn based battlechest style battle)
CULTURE system-by increasing your faction's culture(make it popular amongst factions populations),you will gain any new technology and new artifact own by others factions except uniqeu technology own by certain culture only
TACTICS-the art of arranging troops, warships etc during a battle, in order to win or gain an advantage over one's opponents
WEAPONRY-art of weapon smithy.
CITY BUILDING-,(Genghis Khan 4 build buildings around it's city,enemy faction can raid it's building for gold.Building list:
farm(got wheat farm and cattle farm,wheat farm increase the tradeable goods's production like grape that making wine,tea,etc,cattle farm increase production of tradeable goods like horse,camel,elephant),
village(soldier recruitment),
town-small town surrounding the city that for tax collection.
blacksmith(increase weaponry of coz,no defense upgrade,increase production of tradeable goods-iron)
crafting factory-increase production of tradeable goods-gold,silver,pearl,glass,copper,silk,etc
training ground-building for increase the training and morale of unit recruit in owning city.
hospital-increase health in city,prolonged the age of your family members, increasing the recovering of those wounded soldiers and increase the chance of having children
TRADING system-As listed above,the tradeable goods can be stockpile and trade,you need to have the stockpile of such goods to trade,and the most interesting ideal is the trade is manual or you can turn it to AI automanagement,you can trade with every cities in the map as long as you have stockpile of goods in your city and you have road adjacent with those cities(except those cities overseas),you can stockpile others cities produced goods too(this is the most brilliant system that i favoured the most,coz it make those goods as SPOILS OF WAR,PRIZE OF CONQUERER,make it completely profitable to conquer a city when there is huge stockpile of goods like gold,silver and others valuable goods inside captured city of coz,too bad RTW dun have it,or it will be more interactive to making war!).You can gaining others faction technology by trade too(technology exchange by trade).it got price flow too....you can sell it when it reach it's highest price...
faction's ARTIFACT-artifacts like any uniqeu war machine,uniqeu technology own by certain factions only(ahh,mostly it's creator)like Art of War of Sun Tze that increasing the command skill of infantry and morale......crop rotation system(increasing the farming output,it's food can use as supply,army provision,it can be sell for gold) own by western factions,long bow of british(the weaponry allow the owning faction to recruit long bowmen),
REGIONAL UNITS recruitment system-a system that allow you to recruit the local/region unit(example:horse archer of eastern faction,crusader swordsmen andknight of christian faction, own by other factions,it only available at cities with it's culture,you captured christian faction city like Corum in germany,then you will be able to recruit crusader swordsmen and knight(heavy cavalry) in all of your cities as long as you own that city and you have road that adjacent to it.(compare to RTW regional mercenaries only,for an empire,it should own that unit since it own that land with those tribe that own that units like eastern roman empire recruit the germans heavy cavalry to against the threat of Gothic heavy cavalry that defeat it's heavy legions!)
and it had the requirement of horse production in local region to enable the recruitment of cavalry,elephant for elephant cavalry,camel for camel riders etc
HISTORICAL GENERAL-there is 2 type of general;1:royal family members(can be created by manual/fertility of with random percentage),2:with exist of historical heroes like Saladin,Richard de Lionheart,Genghis Khan(Temujin),“Babarossa” or Frederick the Great....
historical faction-Ayyubid Dynasty(with Saladin still alive,but oredi around 70 of age),Mongols,Turkish,Russian,
