spanish troops in medieval total war

I think that the best troops in Spain were the almughavars. They were from Aragon, they were light infantery, they were so powerfull. They used a javaline, a sword knife and sometimes a crossword.They fought under the commandament of Roger the Flor leader of the Grand Catalan Company.
The almughavars won the turks in many battles.then they plundered the Bizantine imperium and conquered Athens. Please take information about those fierce warriors who formed one of the better armies in the middle ages.

Wasn't it the Spanish that invented the original Arquebus? (In Europe at least)

yes the spanish were the first troop to use arcabussiers. They beginned to use them because the equipment was very delayed and infantry they coludn´t fight against pikemen formations. The army was modernizated and we created the TERCIOS with a third part of arcabussiers a third part of pikemen and a other part of swordmen.
