Of all the pics there isn't one that focuses on the centre of the Mediterranean... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
However I've seen an army "floating" on the west of Greece... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Jaime I, "The Conquerer" is going to angry!!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/mad.gif He will go with the ships, and never find the islands. Hummm - he thinks- Balears are sunked, like Antartida!!. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif I return to Aragon!!.
And...Terazawa, the knights the Order of St. John, now would be a errant order... perhaps!! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif (we still try to look them in a screenshot).
The Knights arrived in Malta in 1530...too late for the game. The Hospitallers were still in Jerusalem for most of the M:TW timeline, then went off to Cyprus and Rhodes...
Malta at the M:TW time was first under Arab rule and then Norman and then...ironically...under Spanish families rule. (Aragon/Castille and others)

Simple. Those islands did not appear on the map until recent history. They are thus "undiscovered", and as such, do not exist.

Nope, it's Latin I'm afraid, well anglicized Latin.

I have no idea what you are talking about Castiline, but Spanish/Mexican expeditionaries discovered this island and called what it is now Catalina. A long time ago I did a research about "potential island paradises" for my Profesor who teaches landscaping, and I think (memory fading) it was called in the name of wife of California's governor at that time, to make it a 'private getaway' for her.
PS. If not Spanish then Mexican perhaps.

Oops, being lazy and reading quickly Thought you said CatIlina, not CatAlina. Catiline is is anglicized version of Catilina, as in Lucius Sergius Catilina...
