View Full Version : Problems commanding my units

Came across an interesting problem recently and after a fairly good search of the boards, I haven't found a solution. What's happening is, in battle, when I right click to set up my units' formations, they don't respond. This even happens in the deployment phase. When I right click and draw out the line I want my units to take, they don't move. Now, the circles are still displayed while I'm drawing the line, but once I let go, nothing happens. As far as I can tell, this just started happening, there weren't any options that I'm aware of switching or anything.

While I'm here, I might as well ask this one too. I was testing out the Cossack Musketeers and in one of the battles, the front row readied their guns and just sat there without firing. Not sure what happened there either.

Anyway, if it matters, I'm using the Stainless Steel 1.2 I think.

Thanks for the help.

your mod may have problem in your formation files..

maybe your mod require gunners to have a clear LOS before firing. the terrain may have blocked the arc of fire or there are obstacles in front of it.

That wasn't the problem. I probably should have mentioned that it was on grassy plain.

Did the draw problem persist ?

About the Cossacks I'd ask in the SS forum, they'd know if it's a bug.

The Cossacks are behaving themselves now. Not sure what the problem was, guess the game just had a hiccup or something.

The draw thing is still a problem, I still have no ability to reform my units at all. It doesn't work in any of my campaigns, or in custom battles. Like I said, as far as I can tell, it just kinda happened.

Also, it's Stainless Steel 3.2, not 1.2.

Check their forum is the best advice I can give. I've never had the same problem and don't have a clue what might be up.

Well this reforming problem is more pervasive than I originally thought. I reinstalled the whole game and I still can't make my units reform.

... Well, I'm out of ideas.

I get this on occasion, usually when I'm defending in sieges. It's very annoying.

Figured it out. I recently installed a program on my computer called Rocker, which essentially lets my mouse function as forward and back buttons for internet browsers if I click the buttons a certain way. Apparently Medieval 2 doesn't like this, when I turned the program off and tried the game, everything worked fine.
