What does piety do for your king,

is it like acumen in medieval 1, or does it change the loyalty of catholics

Piety mainly decreases your change to be executed for heresy.
0 piety and you probably die for sure, but around 4-5 you should stay alive expects if it is yberinquisitor (10/10 or so)
Don´t know if it changes inquisitor appear rate... Mainly heresy should do it
