View Full Version : Hillary, Bill Clinton Linked to Elder Scam

Since he left office in 2001, former president Bill Clinton has been paid by $3.3 million by InfoUSA, an Omaha, Nebraska company that has been identified as a key provider of specially designed databases that have been sold to criminals who use the detailed information to defraud the unsuspecting elderly.
It seem they find people with alzhimiers and give their numbers to telemarketers who then proceed to relieve these people of their life savings.
The relationship between Bill Clinton and Vinod "Vin" Gupta, the CEO and Chairman of InfoUSA is both long-standing and deep.
A frequent Clinton donor, he has stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom, admitted to donating $1,000,000 to the Clinton Library and told the press that he'd consider an additional donation.
Again, since the Clintons refuse to disclose who donated money to the library, we don't know the total that he actually gave. In late 1999, Gupta gave $2,000,000 for Hillary Clinton's Millennium New Year's Eve bash. (They party cost $16 million and was closed to the press!)
The links between Gupta and the Clintons are extensive:
# Gupta raised over $200,000 for Hillary's Senate campaigns and contributed thousands to the DNC and Democratic House and Senate campaigns.
# InfoUSA was one of the sponsors of the Aspen Festival of Ideas last summer where Bill and Hillary Clinton both spoke.
# Gupta built the Bill Clinton Science & Technology Center and the Hillary Clinton Mass Communications Center in his hometown of Rampur, India.
# Bill and Gupta traveled to India together.
# Gupta reportedly paid for a golf outing for Bill at a legendary Scottish course.
# InfoUSA appointed Terry McAuliffe, the Clinton's longtime moneyman to the Board of Directors of its subsidiary company videoyellowpagesusa.com.
# Clinton appointed Gupta to the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees only a few days before he left office.
# Clinton also nominated Gupta as Consul General of Bermuda and U.S. Ambassador to Fiji, but Gupta was never confirmed.
# Gupta's company co-sponsored the 2006 Clinton Global Initiative.
# Gupta sent a $7000 treadmill to Chappaqua days after the Clintons left the White House. After the New York Post disclosed the gift, the Clintons returned the gift.

Shock, horror, who would have thought the Clintons to be corrupt?
Wonder how they'll spin this one. Or if we'll even hear much about it.

So ? Bush Sr. sells priviledged information to arms dealers. You think a single politician in DC actually has any morals left ?

and Bush Jr and Sr are buddies with the binLadens. It doesnt say "Clintons defrauded elderly", it says they had a link to a company that did. BFD.

True Zak, but where theres smoke theres fire. The Clintons have been "linked" in some form or another to far to many people with suspect business practices.
Not that it makes them any worse then any other politicians, but Hilary has a shot at the prize, so that ups the anty

So Clinton is being linked to a company that has been linked to companies that have been linked to fraud. Big deal. My kingdom for an American politician who hasn't.

I hope Hillary gets the nom, she'll be easy to take down. It would take several cleaners several weeks to clean all her dirty laundry. :shame:

I work for an international bank. My bank over its 150 year history has provided services to, and had relationships with any number of questionable enterprises. And sometimes (though very rarely), employees of the bank have even been caught defrauding the bank and its customers, many of whom are elderly.
So, were I as well known as the Clintons, would I rate my own thread entitled "Goofball Linked to Elder Scam?"
The original article is vague and full of innuendo, but no real substance. Basically, just enough to inspire some Republican erections. Which I find laughable in itself. Republicans who have for years been poo-pooing the whole Cheney/Haliburton/Iraq thing are now frothing at the mouth over this.

Cant we just get back to the good old days of Clinton bashing and put this whole "bush cheney" business behind us? :laugh4: I know both horses have been beaten to death, but still kicking the Clintons around has always been far more amusing, no one actually gets killed they just loose thier money...

Unless your name is Vince Foster. ~D
Gawain, get with the program, please. All Republicans are rooting for Hillary until she wins the nomination. You are guilty of premature ejaculation of anti-Hil materials. Please observe Matt Drudge, who is very much in step -- daily articles bashing Obama and Edwards, very little about Hil.
Really, G, I expected better of you.

You've always seemed a bit dicey to me, much like Slick Willy himself. What I really want to know is how many interns have you Lewinskied, and how do you think Mrs. Goofball will respond when she finds out about it on the evening news? At least you didn't send her on the Today Show to talk about the vast right wing conspiracy and basically let her make an imbecile out of herself.

Funny how you can make excuses for them This is going on now as we speak. Clinton knows all about it. I wonder just what he does to earn his consulting fees? He wouldnt have any way of helping them obtain these lists could he? Also Hillary is breaking the law here or so it seems. Oh its just another Clinton scandal. Nothing new here move along.
So Clinton is being linked to a company that has been linked to companies that have been linked to fraud. Big deal. My kingdom for an American politician who hasn't.
:coffeenews:
That's better. Selling personal information to people for criminal purposes is illegal- there's no need for the extra step.
I feel fairly confident in saying Gupta is a sleeze. I also feel safe in saying that the Clintons had a very cozy relationship with a lot of cash and other perks being handed out. Was their relationship criminal? Well, that remains to be seen at this point.
You've really got to love her response to this so far though:
``Those weren't gifts. Whatever I've done, I complied with Senate rules at the time. That's the way every senator operates,'' Clinton said. The senator deflected a question about whether she believed the rule, which has since been changed, was good policy.
"Those were the rules. You'll have to ask somebody else whether that's good policy,'' she said.
I'm just glad we got the republicans out of power in congress so we could finally put a stop to all of those corrupt backroom deals and political patronage. :laugh4:

Making excuses for what, exactly? Sorry, but your article splashes out a big headline, but then offers no proof of any criminal or fraudulent activity on the part of Clinton.
You're worried about Bill and Hil getting a few free jetrides?
How many free jetrides has the Bush clan received from the bin Laden clan?
So Goofball it seems you are saying that Clinton is "laundered" and therefore should get off scott-free since he just accepted ludicrously obscene amounts of money for his involvement with a scam company rather than directly performed the scamming himself. By that logic, guess they better scrap all money laundering laws too eh since those money launderers are equally innocent.
Reasonably, the Clintons are guilty of this atrocity. Doesn't surprise me, it only takes common sense to have realized long ago that neither Clinton has any morals or dignity whatsoever.
I hope they find some criminal charges to file against the Clintons, it's probably what they deserve. But since they are rich that would never actually happen.

are you insane? do you really think either bill or hillary need to rob old people for money? they are fabulously wealthy as it is. do you honestly think if they had any idea what was going on with this company theyd let themselves be involved because of the possible fallout if discovered? do you think they sit around in their secret lair and think up ways to do evil things to people?

Those claim against the Clinton's is weaker than the Whitewater scandal - after 10 years of investigating that one (twice, the first investigation found that they had done nothing wrong, so did the second)- but, got Bill for lying about a bj.
Lets wait and see what comes of all the uncontested government contracts (illegally, btw, in the name of expediancy) being investigated. Then we can talk about scandal and wrong doing. Then we can see if after a President (or VP) becomes a private citizen if he can be charged for criminal activity - or defrauding the government.
The next few years may get interesting.
But, this one? Seems a bit forced. Next they'll be accusing them of being members of the ACLU. :laugh4:

As Scandals go this is pretty weak - so the Clintons have taken donations and worked as a consultant for a firm which has illegally sold details to some telemarketers - there is no link between the selling, this is a scandal for the company not for the clintons - if you can provide the smoking gun that links the Clintons to the selling then you have them as is its guilt by association, which doesnt fly very far

Bill and Hillary know all about this scam yet continue to work for this company and accept money from them. Now you dont see anything wrong with that ?

Dick Cheney still gets a paycheck from Halliburton and they're profiting off the deaths of thousands of soldiers. Ripping off a few old people aint as high on my priority list as that.

Thats simply your opinion. I bet almost everyone in congress has such dealings and plenty of regular people as well. Maybe even you if youve invested in the stock market. Also He no longer works for them. Besides isnt he the one behind sending the soldiers there anyway so whats the difference? Hes responsible for their deaths any way using your logic.

(Clinton) "Those were the rules. You'll have to ask somebody else whether that's good policy,''
Hmm, that's the second time I saw her try that.
Q: Is homosexuality immoral?
A: That's for others to decide.
How convenient.

I didnt say he still works for them, I said he still gets a paycheck from them. Hmm. And youre right yes, he's responsible either way for thousands of pointless deaths.

Well if you really were a die hard republican when you joined the army I would imagine you voted for him then and can blame yourself for the deaths as well. Heck you even went over there and helped.

ooh a resort to ad hominem attacks, how blithely predictable. *yawn*. Yes I did vote for him, I was an idiot clearly. And yes Ive killed my share of Iraqis too and seen a couple of buddies hurt pretty badly as well. The thing is, with what we call an "open mind" people can learn from their mistakes and change their opinions.
