An article from 1997:
http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9705/23/red.heifer/index.html?eref=sitesearch

Very recently, another such red cow has been born (the granddaughter of Melody, the previous one) and now discovered by Dutch journalists. I just saw it on TV myself, as far as I can tell there's no English article on the web about it yet.

OK. So pairs of recessive genes have become common.

They'd have a fit if they ever visited Phillipvs' neck of the woods. Devon Reds* all over the place.

*No, I don't mean Idaho.

I honestly hope that people don't start blowing crap up over just the cow.

Wanna bet? If the apocalypse come in the next, say 5 years, I'll pay you 10.000 US dollars, if it doesn't you'll pay me 10.000 US dollars. :deal2:

From the article:
Because of that, a number of influential Israeli journalists and leftist politicians have suggested that the potential harm that Melody represents is perhaps even more serious than the risk of terrorist bombs. They propose that the heifer be destroyed.

:dizzy2: Do the nuts over there ever take a day off ?

Can anyone see a difference?

Does anyone think this is proof of ancient trade links?

Maybe this is a fuss over nothing.

With the last cow, an orthodox jewish gathered explosives and tried to blow up the Al-Aqsa and Dome of the rock mosques on the Temple Mount. I'd say it's a big fuss over nothing.

Conclusion: the nuts don't take days off.

The last temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D., and Melody is believed by many to be the first red heifer born in Israel since that time....see ?

The local rabbi, Shmaria Shore, had to quash the idea that Melody might be the Messiah, pointing out that the Messiah could not be a cow.But at least some folks keep it real.

I'm sorry but this is bovanism at it's rawest. This isn't a million miles away from what the [Godwins Law inserted] were trying to do.

No, not at all. He specifically referred to moo cows. Hence bovinism.

Bet you the nasty man wouldn't let a camel or mouse be the Messiah either. Ergo, speciecism.

Now your playing semantics. He never mentioned any other vertebrates or invertibrates, just moo cows. The mans an out and out bovist. :shame:

Actually anti-bovism is a specific form of the much broader speciesism :book:

You're right. I was 'just acting the goat' but a search revealed this.

Word came down from those at the summit of the bovine bureaucracy that the museum is to put an end to this practice and from now on cows would be given non-gender-specific names. Like Dynamite. Or Rhubarb. Which has set off a rhubarb in the letters to the editor columns of Ottawa’s daily newspapers and has provided more than enough forage for writers to explore this precious example of the kind of bureaucratic buffoonery that beggars even the most vivid of imaginations.
