Hello, im member of the Warchief team, making the mods for rome 1.5 Inca Total war. We wanted to include the thriving wonder city of Tenochtitlan. Is there any possible way of making land bridges and/or small square islands linked with bridges and/or an entire lake surrounding the city? Heres a pichttp://www.salomart.com/images/tenochtitlan-2.jpg

Did you mean 'bump' or did you mean forget about it? :dizzy2:

Well you cannot have water and a city on the battle map in a battle. I found that out from LOTRTW so you could have either.

If you used SignifierOne's tool (or was it someone else?) that made a bigger, more elaborate Rome, then it is possible to create ditches for water. But as the water itself, I'm afraid the engine doesn't support it. You can't even have rivers on the same map as cities. Of course, you can trick it a bit by making your own "water" which is a building with water texture.

It'd be a real challenge though, since extremely few has done completely new city plan (and not just custom buildings).

My advice, judging by that picture, is to make the pyramid and buildings as the plaza of the highest city level. Ignore the waterways and use the eastern buildings as the regular buildings. Put them in a Roman city plan and it should look similar to the picture, minus the waterways and smaller in scale.

I'd have to agree with the more minimal approach; there is a building in vanilla that has a water texture already (some sort of pool I believe).

You're thinking of aqueducts and resevoirs for Rome, yeah I think that's the way to go.

I'm not sure if this will even work, just throwing an idea out there; couldn't you just use the roman aqueducts, but just bringing them to ground level?

Thanks for the replys. I guess we will go into the "fake" water method. Would it be posible to make a "hole" as a building model that is painted blue but with a thin trasparent film so that it looks as the causeways?

Kind of. You have to make the ground lower too, or otherwise it'd come through the building. You have to use SignifierOne's tool for that. I think you should just make the water a flat solid texture so you don't have to deal with that.
