EDIT:

OK. Gentlemen.

There were some things I wasn't aware of when I posted this thread.
Primarily the issue of graphic "kill" videos being posted or people shown being killed. Now I am aware.

I kindly ask you all to refrain from any further posts in this thread.

Once the moderators and administrators have decided on this we can continue the discussion, if appropriate.

Thank you.

SALUTE !

Pretty good, though long, gets better in the 2nd half, around 05:10.

Poster's comment:

Poster: 1LTCobraPilot: "All this footage is either from my personal camera I had in Iraq, and recorded footage from the Cobra I was flying that records use of the weapons system. With the exception of the brief CNN footage about the battle of Tikrit which I played a major role in. I flew with the Marine Light/Attack Helicopter Squadron 269. Semper Fi!"

Enjoy !

EDIT: I've removed the link as there is a staff discussion on the topic of videos. Will repost if it's allowed by the staff.-Sinan

WARNING: There are people getting killed in this video. Though you do not see it that directly. I did'nt make the video so no whining to me please.

I do feel sorry for those on the receiving end. RIP and all the best, sincere wishes for whatever life is next, if any.

edit: link temporarily disabled, pending staff consultation.-Kukri

Amazing the damage one attack helo can do. It brings back some memories to be sure watching that Cobra in action. Theve been around since Nam.

I find it interesting that we bemoan the 'terrorists' making their sniper videos and car bomb videos yet many of us in the military can't wait to watch some cool Apache or A-10 gun camera footage and then save it to show all our friends.

The sniper videos are incredible, the skill, tact, and courage. Tremendous. I'm glad for all these video sites at least you can see what's going on, on the ground.

Sniper videos are fine but should we be showing them I have no problem with them showing them. AS to the car bombs these are intended to kill civilians so no I dont think any should be shown. Do any of us think its cool to kill. I doubt it.

Anyone know what the music used during the second half is? I know I've heard it before, but I can't place it.

Man that guy took down alot of enemies it seems!

I saw one clip of a terrorist with an rpg get shot down, dont know if its real or fake though... the camera is close up.

Yeap those guys did some damage for sure.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it's real. He was rebel/resistance. Shot through the head with a 3 round burst, 2 & 3rd bursts hit him as he's falling. It was on a road, no cover. Terminal Mistake. That's quite a circulated clip too.

I think I have it on my hard disk. I watched it in a video editing program, in slow motion...to check a) authenticity b) shooter's aim c) target's ethnicity d) circumstances etc.

I don't know if it's the same one you're talking about. Must be a few of guys getting shot down with RPGs.

Thing is, as long as troops have had cameras - their expoits have been sent home. Christ, every GI in the 'nam era had an SLT or 8mm - and all the pics went home. Heck, I gotta a heck of a slide show - though to be honest the only ones I've ever shown are other vets (and an ex-wife).

Visited my Bro a while back. His daughter ((L) was there, hubby was in Iraq. I wanted to check my email and L came in. L said, "check this out, and within a few key strokes tapped into her hubby's "movies" depicting some of his units strikes against vehicles that were suspect. "Suspect". Amazing stuff; bodies flying about, vehicles being blown off the ground.

After the third or fourth, I asked if I could get my messages. Nothing L had shown me was new to me.

A friend of mine that was in 'nam in '69 (artillery) made me (well, no one can make someone do something they don't want to do) watch over a hunderd hours (every time I visited I got a dose) of his 8mm film . He even had footage of his base camp being all but over-run.

Thing is, without seeing the footage - if it bothers someone, then maybe the war and reasons for it does as well. Show the damn thing and let each of us judge for themselves.

Bejesus, stop the hypocracy - and let freedom flow. If blood upsets you? Then maybe you should become a Democrat.
