OK Medieval TW looks good, the large choice of unit from a large choice of different countries.this game could be very challenging on and off line.? which unit will be the best unit or maybe the best country to use. hopefully EA will supply many patches and upgrades to keep changing units therefore all top players will not end up using the same Army. this also could mean a lot more players online.
NOW the bad news, I used to be a red alert 2 player a few years ago, the game was fantastic at first,
more and more people online, then the cheats came invincible units invincible armies. cheats always find a way they can't stand losing. I hope Medieval doesn't go the same way I don't mean to worry people,
just point out the facts .

i know that if i ever even LOOK at cheats it will ruin the game for me because i will force myself to use 'em in hard parts of the game. and then, it'll be so easy i will quit.

Wherever there is competition there will inevitably be cheating, human nature dictates this. However, experience has shown that there are far more honest people than dishonest.
Winning means so much to some, it means less to others.

i play the comp games to keep myself sharp and to check new names out and see how some hosters did increase their skill over the months.
even after the first hype of teh release of twm we will have a bit larger community in respect which we have now, and all nice people will be playing TWM. Especially if i succeeded my course "How to become the nicest TW player" http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
One of the really nice features of STW/WE/MI/MTW is that the entire battle executes on each machine in the game. I'm sure this is to cut down on the amount of info that has to travel over the network between the machines. A nice consequence of this is that every machine has to be running exactly the same combat parameters. You can change something like the unit colors or sprites just for yourself which could be a form of cheating, but you cannot change anything that affects battle results or you'll be dropped from the game.

just wanted to point out EA will NOT be the publisher for this game! it will be activision.
activision`s online server should be a lot better than EA`s crappy server! i didn`t play s:tw online but i will definitely play m:tw online!
