After a week on bed, being utterly ill http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
I downloaded the demo, just finished all the boring tutorials though I loved the siege one http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif.

Anyone else noticed you can follow the projectile from the siege engines ? very cool. (right click the siege engine, it's there in the options).

One question though, how come my troops are being shot at from miles and miles and miles and miles away... are those arrow towers that powerfull?

Myself and Vyanvotts had a discusion on this, think it's in mod forum now.

Basically after testing(destroying all towers and keep) you still get shot by arrows that are not from enemy units.

The arrows do come from the walls. I think this is basically to simulate the idea of moving men onto the castle walls to shoot the enemy, while not actually programming for it.
I certainly think the idea is a good compromise for this version of Total War, but for the next version I would like to see some Stronghold type abilities where men can get up on the walls.

In Stronghold however each man is an individual so it's probably not going to be too easy in Total War to achieve unless they downsize units and then you use group features to manage men in open battles.

One thing I always wanted to be able to do was split a 60 man cavalry unit and attack 2 units of archers seperatly.
