MTW2:Improve or nay?

Hi,
I've been away for a while and thus haven't yet bought MTW2. When I do, what's the verdict on new patches and that sort of thing? Do they fix more bugs than they bring? Is there anything you liked from the 1.0 version which has been lost in the patches? (I have no idea how many of those there have been, btw)

I'm not really interested in reviews of the game, I'm buying it anyway ;)

In my Opinion, 1.2 is a great patch, if not perfect.
I play with Carls's Problemfixer Pure (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=81928), which irons out the unit balancing, and streamlines the gameplay, without altering the vanilla aspect.
I hope you enjoy the game, It's not revolutionary by TW standards, but my favorite game by far.

I'm playing the vanilla game at the moment, but with the latest patch installed. I highly reccommend you patch before playing, it fixes soooo many things.

I haven't really noticed anything missing or worse, upgrading to the latest patch.
