I would say no, guns can often win the archery duel against longbows, and has the ability to cause fear in the enemy ranks, but longbows do a better job all around; bigger volume of fire, no irritating need to reform and thus stop firing( bug?) plus longbows can set stakes and kick some a.. in melee..

Against Arquebusiers (maybe not 100% right, but close) Normal Longbowmen might win since they have longer or even range (haven´t actually tried) and longbowmen are lot faster reloading and shooting, but any better archer surely wipes the field with Arquebusiers... Mean Yeomen and Retinue and Sherwood archers are maybe, because there are half less of them.

Longbows have more range (160) than arquebusiers (120) and can deploy stakes. They shoot faster. Yeomen and retinues are quite good at mêlée.

Why not use both ? Say 4-6 Longbows for the actual killing and a couple arquebusier units that'll do morale damage on units close to breaking and/or making contact.

I agree with frenchie. Having an arquebus unit or two to open fire before the charge can do wonders to break them. But you'll still need the longbows to do the damage.
