Sorry if this bug has already been discussed.

I removed all mods from my Rome Total War directory, uninstalled then reinstalled RTW, installed patch 1.3, then 1.5, and then installed the EB mod. Whenever I try to load my game, the following error occurs:

Screen goes black. A window title "Rome: Total War" appears.
A yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark is in the box with the following text:

Script Error in eb/data/settlement_plans/oasis.txt, at line 11, column 1.

Name not recognised: 'oasis_lake' - make sure you defined it in descr_building_battle.txt, or as a slot or group in descr_settlement_plant.txt

Then when I click ok on the error window, it it closes.

It looks like I might be able to edit it myself but I do not know how.

Help is greatly appreciated!

Rhiet.

Wish we could figure that one out, but it just doesn't occur in most folks' builds. Makes it hard to understand why it does happen in a few others' though.

Thanks for the help guys, that fixed it. Now is there any way to make the game less laggy? lol, Battle Map fps is fine but campaign is pretty slow.

Thanks again for the quick responses.

RTW starts to lag considerably if any of your units couldn't complete it's movement in one turn, ie. if after the unit has moved there is a red arrow showing where it is going on the next turn. Might be that or it just could be because EB uses a lot more resources on your computer than vanilla. Anyhow, that worked for me so hope it helps you too.

There's an easy fix to this: upgrade your RAM to 2 times 1MB and you won't have any lag ever... (That is if you combine it with a decent / high end graphics card - should you wish to try high settings.)

Other than that, you could try to tone down some of the settings and turn of a few programs. Which reminds me of this: where's the Guide to make EB run Faster gone to?
