View Full Version : Question about crusades in GA mode

When playing as the Aragonese I can't seem to score points for my crusade to Antioch.
I never seem to have the problem when playing as the Italians or Sicily.
Do you have to be allied with the papacy to get the points? I am safely within the timeline of when it says points are counted. It never seems to highlight the province red when I am picking where to crusade, and thus when my noble army takes the province, my crusade GA objective vanishes, I get no points, and no fanfare from completing an objective.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the Org, Microspore. ~
Before I answer your questions, I'm going to ask a couple stupid-sounding questions myself to ensure I'm not making false assumptions:
1.) Are you waiting until the next year in which points are actually being counted (1100, 1125, 1150, etc.)?
2.) Are you conquering Antioch with an actual Crusade army, or just a regular army?

IIRC there has been some problems (AKA bug) with crusades and GA points. What version of MTW do you have?
Crusade-points are added instantly, but is taken from you if you lose the target province. If so, you do get your marker back, and have a chance for another go.
But the points aren't "secure" until you pass 1205, then you are free to lose the province at leisure.

Thanks for the welcome!
Well, I can do successful crusades with the Italians and Sicily (I like em because they are in the middle of everything, and thus feel like I can effect every faction easily).
It is just when I launch a crusade with Aragon, it doesn't have the GA objective provinces highlighted red and I don't get any points for securing them.
Hmm. I will check on my version. I dunno...

Well, I think I have the most up to date version, ah well I guess I will survive without the 3 GA points :(
That's unfortunate, Microspore. Have you tried seeing if this problem occurs with any faction besides the Arogonese (and Italians & Sicilians)?
