Caius, as the only person to still refer to me by my old name, [and even dare to
do so almost correctly] I feel it would only be right for me to persist in calling
you by your original nym.

Name changing is a sign of weakness.

It's a sign that you've moved on, which clearly you haven't :P

You haven't been here long enough to understand it ;)

Name changes should only be allowed if it makes our lives easier.

Sorry Caius, your name change cannot be accepted. You'll just stay Caius instead of Garcilosa de la, eh, mmm..., :stupido: :stupido3: Las Vegas? Garcia Las Vegas? Bwah, whatever. Caius.

If you're going for such a radical name change and such a difficult name, don't expect people to remember who you were. :huh2:

I've been going with this name since I registered in long ago.
Someday I'll probably forget who you once were and think you're some random noob, it's entirely your own fault.:sweatdrop:

Caius, Caius. What is the exact reason for the name change? As said before it should be made easier or more clear (but that is arguable). From Caius Flaminius to Caius would be the most logical and effective doing.

I will give you another reason for making it into Caius. Observe the language beauty when you regard the three vowel-ish letters in-between whereof one sounds not as a vowel if I'm correct.

Now in general:
Let us compare the two names:
* Caius
* Garcilaso de la Vega el Inca

The name Caius is clear, short, effective, and arguably a language beauty (to me), while the other is unclear, long, and ineffective as it possesses juxtaposition of too many elements.

I know I know: it is difficult to counter these arguments, or those already made before me. But as you now notice, the only only only only effective name is Caius. I vote it to be :saint:

In a very distant past (about 2 years ago) I registered as Germaanse Strijder. It was inspired by a running gag from my real life, but it practicly begs to be associated with very, very bad stuff :dizzy2:

I first changed it to Krazilec, but that was a misspelling- so I changed it to Kralizec. Then to Fenring because I got bored with it. Later I decided that Kralizec was better afterall, so I changed it back. Both names I got from the Dune universe of Frank Herbert.

As for the future, who knows...

While my reasoning -- and that of others -- is correct and should've convinced you, I would simultaneously respect your wish for a name change. If you want me to address you with the name Inca, then so be it. I will be the first to respectully call you so.

I will replace the name Caius (Flaminius) in memory. But know this: you ask a lot. If one knows of an entity named Caius it requires a significant mental change to refer to this entity as Inca (let alone the whole name).

Inca is feminine by the way, so it should be "La Inca", if I am not mistaken. It may be irregular, though.
