Hello,
Is it very fatal to forget to activate the background-script and, consequently, the 4-turns-per-year function?
At the moment I´m involved in a 3-front-war and, in the heat of the battle, I sometimes forget to activate the background script in the case that it is necessary to reload the previous turn.
What are the most disadvantageous consequences of forgetting to activate the script and how can I correct these consequences?
Best regards
Marcel

Nothing earth shattering.
If you see you have forgotten to activate the script, finish the battle you are playing, save the game, exit, reload and activate it. Absolutely no big deal.
In fact, I am certain I have forgotten to activate that script, myself, on occasion.
Three out of four threads you've made has included "Urgent" in the subject. What could possibly make you think THIS question was urgent, any more than every other thread here?

You simply must know that I recently became a “daddy” and my 3-months old daughter is much time-consuming. Thus, I want to play the limited time, which remains, without troublesome questions in the back of the head. Since I´m going to play somewhat tonight, it is VERY URGENT just for me. Okay?
Thank you

Very best of wishes concerning your daughter. Follow my advice and you should be fine.
Forgetting the script for long periods of time is a no-no. But if you only forget it for a turn or two, you shouldn't worry. I've done it plenty of time, mostly before an important battle, or where I've saved just before i wanted to end the turn, so I end turn or play the battle before I click on a settlement to activate the script (completely forgetting that I should do).

Does the script impact battles, or it is just "End Turn" stuff that it hits?
Sometimes if I've been playing for a while and the AI attacks me during his turn, I'll save and exit rather than fight a 40 minute battle. But when I do this I'm always a little worried that the fact that I can't execute the script when I reload until after I fight the battle means that I'm having an impact on the battle.
I know the traits system has an impact on battles. Does the script need to be activated for the traits system to work? Is there anything else I'm not thinking of here?
The traits and script are loosely connected. Most traits are awarded without the script, but some require it. Existing traits function regardless of whether the script is activated or not.

Much of the script items are given out during the AI's turn. So if you quit for a battle and load it later, all of the factions that play after you complete the battle will not get all of their scripted stuff. This isn't earthshattering a time or two, but I wouldn't do it too often. A faction like Epirus, who gets their turn last, will be crippled.
