Yeah, l am sure of it. I have an idea of how the game will be. All those what if scenerios will lead many European gamers and not only to buy they game most who haven't bought Shogun just to lead their country to victory against their enemies. I mean it will be more than a very good game.
This has the potential to be the landmark of the RTS genre.

I'm glad someone made a topic like this. To many people are too busy in the other forums badmouthing the game on the little things like textures and other technicalities! Let's face it the entire Tota War series has changed the face of RTS's! I just wish more people would get a chance to play it! Screw Age of Empires 2, this is Total War!!!!!!

I was just bringing up the fact that this game will be heavily compared to AOE2. Although they are 2 TOTALLY different games.

No, I love AOEII its just that it's too damn innacurate.
you guys must be joking STW is still full of bugs and was never fixed why should Mtw be any different???
Surely you jest!?
I have to disagree Jun; if you want bugs there are dozens of titles that will adequately elucidate the nirvana that we know as STW.

hehe the problem is what you call a " technicalities" is taking all the fun out of the game specialy if you played shogun like me since it came out and the rts realm was begging by peeps like us for this game for years before ea gracefully comlpied!!!

Even though AOE series is good, it is just a regular RTS/Empire building game.
Total war series is a lot more than that, just as the name says: TOTAL WAR.

i agree that TW is great but it hasn't changed the RTS realm at all. OK it's the best agme out there but still no others seem to follow suit.

Although it didn't really change the RTS games world (games that do that are cloned by evryone, which wasn't the case for STW) it was the most realistic game for a wide audience.
But MTW is going to be even much better!

Count of Flanders, Hirosito you got to be kidding me! No other game is as great as TW. I hasen't had such a drastic change on the RTS world just because it doesen't have a large enough fan base! STW turned a few heads, but MTW will have everyone guessing! How about a little more enthusiasm, this topic is to talk about the good points of the game, not to point out it's flaws!

Though all of us here love TW, and though it is quite a different use of RTS (and I would say, much more interesting use)...
Hirosito and Count are correct, it has had little impact on the RTS genre as a whole. It hardly revolutionized the industry. How you think one game that had mediocre sales, and now boasts 20 users online at a time will impact the industry radically is beyond me. I am sure that AoE must have hundreds of players online at any time (I would not be one of them BTW).
MTW, if it does much better, has the opportunity to pull some other developers in this direction...but it will have to sell in serious numbers to be noticed.

the policy of these forums is that everyone can write whatever they want as long as it's not insulting or off-topic. So if the directionof talk in a thread moves away from the original topic that's fine. And it's definitely not your place to tell us and remind us of the thread's name very 2 posts just because we want to disagree slighty with some aspect of what people are saying.

But we must all agree that Shogun is the bets RTS game. I know that Medieval shall get better sales since most major websites are loving it and are gonna give it high scores which lead to higher buys.

This goes out to evryone in the discussion :
This game, as stated before is gonna be epic, we all know that. It's quite possibly gonna reach out to a much larger audience than Shogun managed to. Hirosito, just because you have a different oppinion dosen't mean you have to insult me. Sure Shogun may not have changed everything, but ya don't have to base most of your posts on dissing it. I'm just saying that this topic is to discuss our enthuseasm and discuss the good points of TW, not to just point out the bad ones. And I will make it my place to remind youwhat topic we're in...

No you won't. Hirosito was wrong by calling you a name but is on the money with forum policy. As long as a member respects the rules mentioned when you register he can voice in this forum any opinion on the Medieval game he wants to.
Furthermore, i am the one who posted *now back to the topic* only because patrons were starting to post stuff that had noting to do with MTW but with other games.
As for flaming....The Sword Dojo expects its patrons to abide by samurai virtue through remaining civil even in the face of disagreements. Any kind of "flaming" is extremely inappropriate.
Because i do not have the time to repeat the rules constantly and explaining them over and over, you can expect me to simply delete the posts we're you do not follow the rules.
I rather not, i would like it much better that you take the time to read the rules and read yourself before posting because your posting is quite dynamic and you bring interesting points to the discussion, but hey, i will do what i have to do.
I'm the humourless, paranoid, SOB http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif that will remind people of the rules here in this forum. OK?
If you want to discuss this further, E-mail me no prob. But to everyone involved, let it die here and now.
