Experience Chevrons...

The 1st, 4th and 7th one visibly add to stats, but do the intermediate ones increase anything other than morale? I heard they might help with missile accuracy, but what about melee, or is there some hidden ToHit stat that they add to?

a theory that hit me the other day might be that one experience increases to 1 skill while each one after that increases by a third.

like this 1, 1.33, 1.67, 2 and so forth. but it was just a thought. the only way to know for sure if there is an advantage is to run a battery of 1v1 with two of the same units one with a chevron and one with 3 chevrons and see if the 3 chevrons unit wins more.

this would either be evident of an actual increase in attack or an increase in animation speed. i suppose some of the mod specialists know more than me though.

As far as I know, units only recieve a bonus from experience at the first bronze, first silver and first gold chevrons (ie the 1st, 4th and 7th the OP mentioned).

I'm not aware of any incremental effects.

I never knew this, a shame really. Might as well simply have one bronze, silver and gold chevron and take longer to obtain them rather than having three of each. Does not make all that much sense really.

Having each chevron upgrade defense skill and attack by 1 would be just insane. I think the theory that after 1 bronze it goes 1.33, 1.67, 2 etc...
would be close to reality, anyways there´s the morale bonus ^^

During 1.0 times, I noticed that ranged units with higher experience had more ammo too.

I'm pretty sure they have a morale and stamina bonus, as well as maybe a cohesion and accuracy one. My eyes might deceive me, but I think my gold chevron Mailed Knights charge more "as oooone" (in the words of Maximus :clown:) than the green ones.

i know for sure that missile units gain accuracy for each chevron.
