You mean there's another demo version and PCGamer get first go at it again?

How much better are the graphics?

Are their any additional files with stats etc.. in that we can change?

Well if review is ready for early August then game release must be, end August/early September.

The U.S. version only has a small preview on the game, This is what it says,"Shogun moves into the middle ages in this sequel to a mass-mayhem real-time strategy game that we loved. In additionto the shift in scenery, you'll now get a full non-linear campaign mode letting you conquer Europe and North Africa. Castle sieges will feature ballistas, trebuchets, and boiling oil.

And thats all they have ever had in the U.S. PCGAMER. B***S*** if you ask me. Lucky brit Bastids http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

The new PC Gamer (112) is only due to hit the shelves today. (11th July) I've not seen it in the local newsagents yet though, so can't say if there is a new über version or not.
If there is though, i'm sure someone will post something soon. (I hope....please.....awww go on.......) http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Schultzy, Americans don't get the UK version (unless you want to pay 80$ a year for a demo). The US version is on its 100 issue right now and all it has in it is warcraft and shoot-em-up games, BS if you ask me.

any chance of one of you Brits who happens to be in a generous mood hosting the updated demo someplace??

Is it possible to send all the files etc through E-mail?

Aelfred Magna

prob'ly not email, as the files would be huge . . . if you've got a fast enough connection, though, (i.e. DSL) it could be done via AOL Instant Messenger.

Did you get the 2CD version or the DVD?
I had a quick shufty at the 2CD in the local Newsagents and as far as I could tell, (it was only a brief scan of the disks)there wasn't a trace of a new improved MTW demo.
They didn't have the DVD version though but i guess if there is a new demo, it'll have to be on the DVD, holds a shed load more stuff.

OK - I've got it, i've played it, it is no big deal. The new demo is only on the DVD version of issue 112. If they have made changes to the graphics engine then you will be hard pushed to find them, maybe just a tiny bit (I mean very very small, microscopic even) difference when units are viewed close up (less pixellated). Bear in mind that I can only play it at a resolution of 1024x768 on my PIII 500 and you guys may get more impressive results with the high end machines, but unless your extremely picky you won't see any difference. There are no extra frills with the new demo, its the same as the last one in every respect, just the new graphics engine, whatever that is......

I will go out and get the new improved MTW demo,
in the next couple of hours and release pic so you can see

hopefully the graphics have been improved but I will be surprise if they are better.

The improved engine I imagine would just make it smoother to run
