Columbo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbo).

What a terribly annoying character. In the old days I watched his shows only to see how annoying he could be. I have just been reminded of this show as I were azappin' and boy... I cannot think of any TV show character more annoying than this one.

He simply keeps on talking and talking with that annoying slow voice. Why doesn't he simply get to the point directly? He harasses people (probably guilty) to provoke them into erring, but, but.... arrgh.

I always thought it was Hilary from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She used to give me nightmares about how stupid she was.

Hands down, mine has to be Steve Urkel from Family Matters. I've got to resist the urge to commit suicide everytime I hear his voice.

But he was the central character of the show, so if you disliked him (reason enough to...) you simply dislike the show and should avoid watching it. I think it's far worse when a terrible character appears on an otherwise good show, like Kim Bauer in the first two seasons of 24 (she was actually worse in season 2 !)

Ugh. He is indeed a terrible one. In fact I will honestly tell you I find the whole Next Generation cast terrible: the stupid boy W Crusher; the annoying Data; the uninteresting Number One; the unnecessary advisor; the blond woman on the bridge; the male wearing the "scanning glasses"; etc.

When comparing The Next Generation's cast to the original's -- even without this comparison -- the former perishes.

Well I must disagree with the rest of your opinion in the strongest possible terms. The TNG cast remains my favorite overall, Wesley aside. I shan't drag this off-topic by chiding you for your misplaced loyalty to Shatner & Co., however. ~D

Can the main characters of Friends be classed as one character?
They each have a sixth of a personality.

The whole Friends cast is terrible and annoying. They are all too... simple and silly.

David Schwimmer is terrible. That Chandler guy is terrible. Joey is not as bad as them, but still terrible. Then the women: that Monica person is terrible; the blond good-looking one whose name eludes me is terrible; and that Phoebe character is annoying too, but at least she's... "acceptably annoying". But still terrible of course.

No way, Chloe is the best thing in 24. The only character on the show who is a plausible human being for a start. But she is also a pretty unique character to be portrayed on screen - a woman who is nerdy and geeky, who has few social graces, who is a goodie, who is petulant and childish, who is sympathetic and caring, who is extremely competent, who is vulnerable etc. I can't remember watching a female character on TV remotely like that, ever. She is just a really fun anti-hero. It certainly makes a change from the one-dimensional bimbos and bitches normally portrayed on TV[1].

I also think she is played by a great actress; apparently a stand-up comedienne in real life, which may be why I find her character hilarious. Her tasering the amorous drunken boor in the hotel lobby was possibly the best moment ever in 24.

[1]Although to its credit, 24 has had some other fantastic female roles - esp. Nina and Sherry Palmer. :2thumbsup:

Wesley Crusher for Star Trek is a good candidate. Think Wil Wheaton is cool but that character...arrrgh...

So annoyingly helpful and cheery...I just wished Picard had shot him in the face most of the time...

That doesn't matter, he didn't use his real voice in the show. That nasally, whiny voice should be declared a crime against humanity. :smart:

Wesley Crusher, my gods, I hate that character:furious3: , I could boil him oil everyday of the week.

There should have been any episode where something creates hundreds of him and the rest of the crew have to kill them in different ways.:2thumbsup:

Wesley Crusher supports the argument that super smart kids and animals only belong in Disney productions.

The only super brained character worse than Wesley was that annoyance on the (thankfully) short lived Battlestar Galactica sequel Galactica '80 (as in 1980). Commander Adama became a bumbling idiot thanks to the presence of brainiac wonderchild - at least Wesley didn't do that to Picard.

It has to be that David Caruso character from CSI:Miami.
Gah! His awful one liners! His awful hair! His awful sunglasses! His awful everything!

'Bla bla bla ... [long pause] ... bla bla! [puts on sunglasses].

Mind you, maybe I just don't like David Caruso full stop - he annoyed me in NYPD Blue as well.
