Hey um im having a problem, see i got EB downloaded and works just fine i can move my mouse around the main menu fine. But when i select a custom battle or a campaign to where it brings me to the maps (both battle and campaign) it freezes in a matter of seconds. when it freezes i either use task manager to get out or i have to click the restart button. now if it doesnt freeze 100% i can still ctrl alt delete out it but it still exits game. so when i try and open it again it loads and has a black screen just black making this weird beeping sound into the monitor. After that i ctrl alt delete again and it says RTW (rome total war) does not recgonize or found direct X 9b :furious3: .
It could be that but i have direct x 9b and even when i reinstalled the game i made sure i downloaded it. could it be something else or is it really direct x. if you know the solution please post as soon as possible waiting is just pain because im not able to play :help: .

Does vanilla RTW work? How much memory do you have (at least 1 GB is needed for EB)? Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card? Anyway, please make your own thread.

From Instaling EB guide page 3.
Yes i have atleast more then 1 GB.
No, it doesn't work in RTW however it does seem to use some of EBs data i.e
the loading bar,the roman citys and ports.
what do you mean by drivers i still have yet to look in to something like that.

Never mind.
I moved the whole conversation to one place...

EDIT2:
It freezed on the load screen or in the menu still?
How long have you waited for it to 'unfreeze'?

Each piece of hardware requires a piece of code called a driver to work with Windows. In some cases it won't work at all without it, in other cases there are fallback options Windows uses that everything understands, but it will not work optimally or be able to do everything, such as run RTW.

If you have an NVidia graphics card, you find drivers at www.nvidia.com, if you have an ATI card you find it at, yes, www.ati.com.
