on a geforce 3 64mb video card.

and i also fear medieval will be the same as shogun in a way, why you may ask well i looked at some of the screen shots in the .com website and i sawa a load of musketmen line up infront of H2H men mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it looked familiar so i took a closer look, oh and what a surprise there were cavs at the flanks ready to rush the enemys archers or whatever.

once more im dissapointed in the fact that now most people are getting good pcs with adequit graph cards i would have expected the ruddy castles to have archers and cannons posted in the castle walls but no!
like in shogun you have 1 main entarnce to shoot out of while the enemy can tear away at the walls and beat you (thats if you are in the castle).
mmmmmmmmm dissapointment roams furiously, oh well i have not examined the game properly so prove me wrong and reveal my ignerance plzzzz
can someone plzzzz tell me the release date is it august 23 or sooner? thankyou for reeading this what i hope was not a boring article.

Maybe you should actually play the game and see how it is, and then if you dont like it, take it back.

Well from the demo it is clear you can't man the walls in a castle. However the castle's towers shoot arrows to the attacking force.

So basically it seems like there is nothing like assaulting the castle's wall with ladders and siege towers.

What you do is to put your siege engines to smash walls untill there is a gap wide enough for your army to move into the castle's innner square and fight the besieged army. From then on things are pretty much like a regular battle in the open.

Personally I am VERY dissapointed by that. Howevere I am hoping the demo didn't show all the possibilities for castles and sieges.

After trying "Stronghold": A game with many bugs but with a very interesting ideas on attack and defense of a castle I was expecting MTW to be REALLY creative regarding castles and sieges. But it seems the game engine is not up to the task http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

Anyway, I find some confort thinking that failure in the issue of castles and sieges in STW didn't prevent it of becoming a great game http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
