Hello!!

Exist any mod for any of the series game that let you play in a classical fantasy universe? You know Dwarfs, Elves, Humans, Orcs, Goblins and the rest of the guild?
That will be very cool!!

There was one I eagerly anticipated some time ago but have lost track thereof: Tides of Darkness (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=76107). The creator should have a recognized separate forum made for it on the other big Total War board whose name eludes me briefly.

It is a fantasy mod, but if it is what you seek, I do not know.

There's a rather popular Lord of the Rings mod for RTW called The Fourth Age; it's set in the time period following the destruction of Barad-dur and the end of the War of the Ring. You can find their website here (http://www.thefourthage.org/).

Do you need BI to play this Fourth Age mod?

Hi Xehh II,
Unfortunately, BI is required for the mod to operate correctly. Sorry.

The Hyborian Age: Total War (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=231), Warhammer Total War (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=225) and Dragonlance: Total War (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=221) for M2:TW all sound very interesting and promising if your looking for a fantasy mod on the new engine. Unfortunately though, none of them are released yet or have a release date.

DAMN IT!!! Why does it need BI?

I'm not to sure Xehh, but I think that it may be because BI has extra features intigrated into it such as the shield wall formation and better AI - both of which are not avaliable in vannila 1.5.

That sucks, any LOTR mods that don't need BI?

I'm sorry to say that I'm not too sure Xehh. However, this guy (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/member.php?u=11204) has a useful list in his signature, although, unfortunately, few of the links work correctly due to issues with the forum's database. Sorry about that.

What soldiers in Middle Earth use a shield wall anyway?

Some of the mods looks pretty cool, specially the Warhammer mod, just what I'm searching, but still not released, after the Mark of Chaos fiasco, will be cool to play a small Warhammer mod!

The Rohirrim and the DĂșnedain (they called the formation thangail, Sindarin for 'shield-fence') are specifically mentioned as using it, and it is probable that the Elves used it as well.

How can the Rohan guys use shield wall when they're all on horses?

How can the Rohan guys use shield wall when they're all on horses?

Not all the Rohirrim were cavalry, and those that were would often dismount if the situation demanded it.

Here's another really cool fantasy mod if anyone is interested. Follow the link over to TWC to read the backstory and all the details of the mod. I'm not sure if they have a forum here on the org. The mod is called End of Days.
