Hi,

simple question here:

How is it possible to enable or disable faction's ability to join/launch crusades?

Or is it even possible to mod that, so that M2TW makes all catholic factions able to crusade by default?

Yes, I think the game automatically ties crusades to Catholics and jihads to Muslims

I believe that if you remove the Papacy, you remoce Crusades, would I be correct in thinking this?

Yes you would. No Papal States = No Pope = No Crusades.

Is it possible to mod it somehow so that Orthodox factions can crusade as well, or maybe make other faction start Crusades more often. For example, you make a pagan faction and all the Catholics start Crusades against you every 4-5 turns? The Pope is too lenient regarding Crusades, I played the Turks as a diabolical warlord maniac, conquered all the way to Italy, killing everything in my path, and not a SINGLE Crusade against me! Lame...

So how does one go about removing the pope?

This is just the kind of question I was looking for. I want to build a dark ages mod, and the pope just shouldn't have the kind of clout he weilds in Vanilla.
