One or two discussions have become a bit overheated recently, I think it's because the game release is growing close and more and more information is starting to come forth as to what the game will really be like.

Some people don't like what they hear or don't want to believe it, and maybe feel a little frustrated that the game is not going to live up to expectations.

Well give it a chance and don't assume the worst. They cannot satisfy everyone's wishes and desires for a game of this magnitude, I doubt the devs can even satisfy their own desires, but they do the best they can.
Some will no doubt say they can at least get historical things right, well maybe but it's a harder task than you would imagine.

From what I have read they have spent alot of time investigating the history and using experts on the periods to help, so if they make some mistakes then it surely proves what a hard task it is, as they surely don't do it on purpose.

MTW is a gaming experience to be enjoyed both prior to release and after release, remember the bottom line is all about having fun playing the best game of it's type.

Funny that DoCToR as I also used it when playing Half-Life & Team Fortress.

I just thought of the James Bond film and used it at the time when I first got Half-Life back in oh jeez when was it about early 1999 I suppose, maybe end 98.

Only played Half-life online for short while then found Team Fortress and never went back. Havn't played recently though.

Did bump into a couple of DrNo's on my travels on TF servers, so there are a few great minds around.

I seem to remember having this chat back when STW first came out. Was it with you?

Aye, it must have been me i reckon! My memory doesn't serve me as well now as it used to in the past. Since the earlier days of Shogun and working on creating the 1.02 beta i haven't really been using these forums much... hence the poor memory. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

We'll probably have this conversation again when the build up to the arrival of TW3 starts...

..or maybe not if these forums become as aggro as the Half-life ones did... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

I used Dr_No for about 3 months of online play following HL's release (Xmas 1998), then when i joined the clan [CM] i changed it to DOC.. never really got into TFC, but i still pop into Demon servers every now and then to bash some newbs! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/redface.gif

Heh, me and my mate called one of the aliens with the lab coats Dr. Zeus from Half Life.

Anyway, I wasn't expecting MTW to be a perfect game, if it's better than Shogun then it's already one of the best games out there.

Bah .... I went to sleep for some hours (I coulnd't keep my eyes fixed on the screen anymore) and I missed the whole enchilada http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

Anyway, what DrNo says is right on topic. I doubt somebody here is 100% happy with the way the upcoming game is (according to the info we have disposable right now)

But again, MTW is just a game

i would say i'm pretty much 100% happy with how it's shaping up...

only by playing it myself will it give the full picture though. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
