I´m playing the Macedonians and I´m now in the year 250 B.C.
I´m playing a “normal” difficulty level (I´m still in the learning-process) and the game works out for my empire.
I´m only concerned about the trait system: in every turn almost every Macedonian family member gets the trait “occasional drinker”.
I have no objections against my generals gaining one hit-point and one influence-point every turn (by the way… why is the influence climbing when someone is swigging?) – but I don´t want to rule an alcoholics´ kingdom.
Is this a bug? If so, how can I intercept it?

Regards Marcel

It's just something the Makedonian's do for (I think) unknown reasons. It is a bug, but I actually find it kind of funny and endearing after seeing movies like Alexander which have all the big drinking parties, and reading about the same drinking parties in history books.

The normal drinker trait and the Makedonian drinker trait are conflicting with eachother constantly adding and removing that trait. According to the code, that should not happen. It has been looked over many times and there is no reason that it would be doing that. Strange ghosts in the code...

The message for the trait should be disabled in the next version.

Drinking is a social event and getting to know people socially increases influence.

Ok, thank you. I hope, that this trait-bug does not over-influence the game in my favour.
I should try to defeat a full stack enemy army with one of my generals on his own - after this general has assembled so many hit-points making him deathless :laugh4: :laugh4: :laugh4:

Actually, the trait goes away and then comes back every turn, so they shouldn't have dozens of the same trait with dozens of the same bonuses.
