View Full Version : Aspects of Revolt and Civil War
Now I have a question...first quoting the original total war...I was playing a game as Oda...Nobungada was my Daiymo with 25 victories and no defeats...I fought for one of three remaining enemy territoris and Oda died...after I won the battle every single province i had revolted making it impossible to take them back due to no garrisions,no time and not enought men...In this new game civil war and such are mentioned...will it be the same? Will i have to garrison every province with some sort of pieces? In STW I just loaded my last save and continued...I think civil wars could be fun and dense in content...but I think spending money on armies that I might never use is not so good...in other words I want to play through civil wars but not like they are represented in STW...

Oh I don\t know,I thought that was sort of fun.
So near and yet so far,my castle it seems, was built on sand or something.
Same thing happened to Alexanders Empire.
Its a good point, cos u deserve to win and the whole damn thing revolts, I think u maybe take control of one side and try and win, now that would be cool....

but the population would need a certain ammount of milita to control it, theres no police...if theres no men controlling civillians they will run riot

That happened to me once I was oda and christian.
Three clans were reformed and the rebels poped up all over the place.
Yes I agree with both of you...but wouldn't Alexander have had like to have won? I know I wanted to...and did...hee hee....but yes...perhaps there should be an option where you use with force...you men in some kind of battle to subjugate a strong or convienient faction to continue with...therefore your not left with many men and poo poo to support and continue conquirng with...
u should be able to make militia, cept u cant use it in battles, it just controls the poplace, like an upgrade..

well if civil war errupts you will have to choose sides and fight against the general\count\royalty which opposes you. sounds like fun. one way to avoid revolt is to keep your king near your home but then he might be seen as a coward so that's a problem as well.

Hiro-mate that cud only be tru if you were a militarily aggressive minded player of the game.
Others might play on a more economically based view. If you don't attack people, then your King can stay at home anyway.
But the idea of having to fight a civil war against your upstart cousin or sumthing wud be cool. Perhaps trying to enlist the help of your allies where as he is unlikely to have any allies. But then your allies might take advantage of your weakened state and become your enemy. If only... but unfortunately it says that civil war only comes around if you have no heirs and more than one general of royal blood or whatever. Or did I read that wrongly at .com?

I think that if you make the peasants really mad, they will burn some of your buildings down.
I always thought it was kind of fun fighting the rebellions in STW. They were forced to fight my armies. Would be interesting to see a whole new country spring up after a successful rebellion. Doubt that this incorporated in the game but still it would be fun.
I feel the aliences could be revamped so that they could help quell a rebellion, perhaps you'll have to carve him a bit off the breast if you win or you can raise sentiment to his ineptness if you don't therefore grabbing a bit o his bosom...not militias would also be nice but if they could be incorporated into a map battle when they are needed that would be grand...perhaps as units of simple pike men or something like that...
militia would be cool, it downs the poplace count, and they are amred with pitch fork and scythes, they count as swords men because of there ferocious nature?
Rokkaku, I don't know if I understand you correctly, but here goes:
Militia will be much stronger than Peasants, and there will even be Militia Sergents.

Kraxis-san this is basically what we mean.
1) You can train a unit called Militia which don't appear in your army.
2) They instead disappear and stay in the province where they were made.
3)Being there they keep the loyalty of the population up.
4)They can also defend the province if it is attacked and become a unit on the battle-mode screen.
I think thats basically what the guys mean.

Brillliant! I like the notion of population count too! Perhaps new troops could be drawn from this and each year more babies are born...14 legal age to die! Brilliant!
Well it would have been nice if Militia was a provincebased unit, but DD said that it is a unit as any other.
At least that is what I think he said, it is some time ago now.
