View Full Version : tiome between paosts
I was wondering why do I have to wait 20 secs between each post?

It is a spam filter. I believe it is because it stops people form triple posting, etc and encourages the edit button.

How much can you do in 20 seconds?
When I log on I find all the topics that interest me and open them all in new tabs, then if I choose to reply I do.

back button in the browser works fine.

Make sure to use advanced reply if there's a danger of that happening, as it saves form data.

What pevergreen said. For quick replies, back button in 70% of cases works fine. Only 70% though.
Advanced edit saves it 80-90% of the time, not 100% either.
As far as I'm aware, as Member, that flood control is normally 5 seconds, but if you post several posts in a short period, that latency increases. Best bet is just to wait a few secs between posts. The most sure method really.
(outside of becoming a senior member :grin2:)
pah, the most sure method is to go read something else, coming back every 20 seconds to submit the pre-written post

Believe me, loads
20 seconds is too long and I'm sorry about posting this twice.
It's determined by your warning level.

Doesn't your warning level go down in time ?
My time between posts only seems to be increasing, and it's been a while since I've been a bad boy...
Edit: 80 seconds at least for me.

Never had a warning, mine is about 10 seconds.

Odd. I can't see that you have any active warnings; so I'm not sure as to the cause of that.
There's probably some secret way the system works things out that only Tosa knows

80 seconds? That doesn't sound correct, I'll check.
I have to wait a bit as well.
edit:
Oh...only eleven seconds...
What abouth the time between pms? That gets annoying bigtime when your doing a mafi-type thing.

Hi Motep,
I don't think that the limit is 11 seconds - there seems to be a minor glitch in the software which informs the poster, when he does want to make a new post, that the time left is the flood control limit. I think that Xehh II is possibly correct in saying twenty seconds - I am lead to believe that the limit was close to that during my Member days.
Mines 30 seconds. I don't have any active warning I don't think.

Now im down to twenty seven...should not have called pever what I did.

That's correct Omanes Alexandrapolites, the software calculates the time left. Nifty, isn't it?

Sorry, this is just a test to see if my flood control has changed.
EDIT: 20 seconds ! Thanks Tosa !

May be it is to try to reduce the prevalence of things such as threads entitled "tiome between paosts". :wall:

I want the tiome back up to eighty seconds for Belgian posters so I can beat them in debates by outposting them. :sweatdrop:
