Well thats disappointing. WHEN YOU ARE OUT OF TURNS LEFT, YOU CAN STILL PLAY LIKE NOTHINGS DIFFERENT. Because this is the case, WHY TELL ME HOW MANY TURNS I HAVE LEFT?

I will repost this in a seperate thread but for those who like to turtle, there is no hurry AT ALL for finishing your objectives in time.

If you finish your objectives after the time runs out, it is not counted as winning the game (ie factions aren't unlocked etc)

Its nice to know that SOMETHING happens if you don't finish in time. But as you were talking about unlocking factions, I don't think it should happen when you win a campaign. Factions should only be unlocked if you (and only you) eliminate them from the game, this way it would add more playability and replay value. For instance, if I wanted to play as Egypt, odds are I wouldn't start as the HRE to do so but the closest faction to Egypt that I could be.

or what if all factions were unlocked from the start? ^^
Anyone knows anything about this regarding kingdoms, will all factions be playable right from the start?

What Sapi is also saying, besides from factions being unlocked, is that if you have not completed the victory conditions by the time the number of turns is up, you lose.

Of course, you can always keep playing for the enjoyment, I wouldn't like it if i didn't care about the games victory conditions (I play with my own conditions in place hehe), the turns were up, then the game finished and i wasn't able to play anymore. I like things being "open ended".

But that brings up a thought, whats the latest Date anyone has played to? As in past the "end" of the game?

Definitely; that was the way RTW worked (at least as I remember it), and it was far more interesting to get factions that way.

I disagree. As a campaign takes pretty damn long time, I cant see why I should be forced to play something I dont want to.

Being of viking heritage I have found I always cheat unlock the danes first thing I do.

Sure I play the other factions later... But all of this "play to lock things up" crap most gaming companies use is in my oppinion BS.

I agree as in the case with M2TW it would be nice if you could play any faction right from the git go without having to play and finish a scenario or change the files before playing. Let the user decide what faction he/she wants to play first. I'm probably nitpicking though. :laugh4:

I still agree with what I said, but you should be able to start off by unlocking your starting faction. BETTER YET, CA please pay attention. You should have to pick a nation to be unlocked at the start AND ONLY THAT NATION WILL BE UNLOCKED.

Then pray tell how do you play the locked faction which you will unlock by playing it

I guess he means you choose one faction to unlock first time you play a campaign, and then you have to beat the other factions to unlock them.

Someting of a middle road...

Exactly, I thought I made that clear from the start.

That would annoy me, seriously:wall: hehehe

I'd edit the descr_strat files like I always do and make them all playable so I can enjoy the game at my leisure :beam:

Although I do think its kinda senseless to choose factions like the current vanilla game offers at the start as unlocked factions, I mean, why make them so special?

I think it'd either be the "choose one at start" option style, or ALL of them available.... perhaps even give the player a choice first time he/she starts a campaign game:idea2:
