How far can you travel a year????

Does anybody know how many of your own provinces you can move through in a year? Is it still 1 prov a turn or is it more. I can't imagine it taking 3 years to get from Northumbria to Normandy. Your strategic peices will really age moving about the Map.

Can anyone shed more light on this please ?????

I cant imagine them moving more than one province a year, I think that maybe cav could move too, these are not answers, just what I expect.

would it not (or should it not) depend whether they move over sea or the Alps for example..terrain in other words...it would have taken 3-6 years the sail to Japan so a hop over to France from England cannot surely be a whole year.

But one thing is for sure...it wont (maybe) be a whole year till you can play and find out.

If I recall from other posts, your pieces can move one space via land, per turn - but they can move anywhere on the map that is reachable by sea, in that same turn . . . as long as you control the sea lanes to the target province.

I wonder if it depends on the size of your army. A unit of cavalry would be able to move far quicker than six units of cavalry. Support units, siege units, infantry, and all sorts of other factors slow down a march.

looks like sea will be hotly contested, it was only a minor bonus before hand, because of the size of the map in medieval, looks like u must control them to win, cool!
and they stil didnt make sea battles...
